Got to play some 2v2 with an ex Laker

Post#1 » by supaflash » Wed Apr 17, 2013 11:45 pm

I've met a bunch of players, even kind of shot around with a couple, but never actually got to play with one, at least not once they were in the NBA. Until last night however, while not playing in the NBA anymore, it was still pretty cool, and to boot he was an ex Laker, one of my favorite short-time Lakers actually. The pesky defender that was Lindsey Hunter was working out at my gym awaiting the Suns game tonight vs Denver. I was shooting around when he joined to get some shots up then invited me to run some 2v2 with a couple guys playing on the other end. Suffice it to say we won easily. I have been turning down games for a while and was super nervous to play as my legs just aren't right post several injuries, but I played well. I didn't say anything that I knew who he was, the other guys didn't know but after the game was over and we shook hands I said thanks for all the great defense in the '02 championship run. I know he didn't play that many mins, but I always liked his hustle when he did and thought he was a terror on perimeter defense. It looked like it caught him off guard for a sec that I recognized and remembered but then he was smiling. We talked for a sec and I had to joke a little about his Suns beating us but then beating Houston the other day. As I was leaving I told him I'd always remember him as a Laker and a champion but Kobe or no Kobe, he can't have our draft pick! He laughed. Anyway, thought I'd share, the Nation is always out there somewhere. Big game tonight, let's go get it!

Cool story and thanks for sharing! It is a pretty cool thing to be able to ball with ex players or even better active players. I have been lucky to have spent many years playing in the wooden center and that's where you find NBA celebs 24/7

But still if you don't have a link or source it did not happen
Kidding but some aren't lol

Thank god I was right about the draft pick! Sorry Lindsey, but we gonna hit the Spurs in the chops.

That's sick man, I loved Lindsey when he was in the league.

I worked an event with Sean Rooks before he left for China this year and beat him in Knockout! Lol
