Ok GBA is not even funny. There have been a few lakers rigged threads...people saying that the lakers are better without kobe. People claiming pau was the reason for the last two rings, Kobe is average...blah hate blah...

Where does the hate stem from? I have a few theories:

1) Lakers 16 rings.

2) Kobe's dominance, 5 rings.

3) Kobe passing jordan's accolades.

4) Getting the best players: magic, kareem, wilt, shaq, kobe are all top 10 all time easily for example. Now getting Dwight a premeire top 5 player of this era.

Well when you look at the players we have gotten you really start seeing why people hate the lakers actually.

Kids who don't know **** about b-ball

Bitter guys who endured year after year of failure(I've seen Wizards,Bobcats,Raptors,etc fans who hate on Kobe and the Lakers) and are jealous that their players tend to bolt to the bigger markets eventually


At least 50% of the GB is comprised by such individuals

It will only get worse,if we beat the Spurs, the threads about Kobe holding the Lakers back will surface from all directions

Also about Kobe it also comes from legions of fans who overrate him and put him above MJ and in present years people who defend his defense and every single thing he does and say he's still better than Lebron

Not even the biggest Kobe homers around here claim such things.....certainly not "legions"
I may have missed a few posts/threads but the vast majority of Kobe fans around here DO NOT post things like that

its not because Lakers/Kobe fans, but its just simply hippy trend.

they also butthurt that their team destroyed by Kobe in his 18 years in the L.

Lakers have good management and good geography, gives them an inherent advantage over most teams in the NBA in acquiring great players. Some think refs are biased sometimes, mostly because of that Kings series.

Kobe's destroyed a lot of teams by buzzer beaters and some people see him as a ballhog.

Lakers are the Yankees of the NBA and you wonder where the hate comes from?

If you dislike the Yankees then you should know. No one other than Lakers fan want to see the Lakers win, and it's perfectly understandable.

In fact look at the answers in this thread and you have the answer : "They don't like us, because we are so much better than them. We kicked their ass and they are jealous."

I only mildly exaggerating, but that's pretty much what some of you sound like. Don't wonder why others hate that kind of attitude.

This. People seem to overestimate the number of obnoxious fans Kobe has on this site. I agree there are a couple of posters who make a lot of noise, but that sticks out in people's memories and over time becomes "legions" instead of the minority. Availability heuristic at play.

Lakers hate due to fans stems a lot from the GB-esque fans, not the Lakers board-esque fans.

I think its a combination of all the above and a mixture of some other factors as well, such as...

1) Famously waving off a screen set by Karl Malone in an All Star Game, preferring to go at MJ one-on-one. Kobe has been viewed as being overly- arrogant and brash ever since.

2) The incident that happened in Colorado.

3) Because Kobe is a "polarizing" individual and doesn't care what people think of him.

4) Kobe is a Laker. The Lakers and most LA sports fans are hated in general. Kobe is just at the forefront of the LA sports scene.

Haha...anything involving analysis from GB guys can no longer be taken seriously. Hate saying this but it also pertains to youth on that board and just in real life when it comes to why people hate the Lakers

Those guys on the GB who come with the same hate filled post can't be any older than young to mid 20's at best. Most of those guy grow up hating based on what they're exposed to. I get people hating teams but what gets me is those guys talk like what they're saying is law and it's going to hold up for infinity.

And they don't realize nor have they researched history.

I tell everyone to look at a sports almanac. ...you see the same teams over decades doing the same thing over and over and over again as far as winning.

It ain't gonna change with the Lakers.

Not on our Lakers boards, which is why I post here. I've been on many others where people are dumb as ****, plus I hear about GB Lakers posters being idiots, plus I wasn't only talking about the web, many newer casual fans who act hardcore rep Lakers/Kobe in LA and will stay blind to everything else. So many facebook friends who still laugh at anything Lebron does and brush off his success and overrate anything Kobe does.
