1 of the biggest Kobe fans in the world here. Greetings to all, I posted on your boards now and then. If somehow, someway the Lakers win the championship this year, will that 6th trophy be with an asterick in terms of Kobe's legacy?

Hey, not as big of a fan as you, but the rules state that there will be an asterisk next to his legacy unfortunately. It sucks, but there's nothing we can do about it.
We're still not sure where the asterisk is going to go though. Is it going to be in front of his legacy like this "*Legacy" or after his legacy like this "Legacy*".
Only time will tell.

if pippen led the 55 win 1993/94 bulls to a title without jordan, how would it have affected jordan's legacy?

"Anybody who was around basketball in '99 knows
it was entirely an aberration," Jackson said. "Not
that (the Spurs) didn't deserve it ... but that's an
asterisk."
doesnt matter...a ring is a ring.we can argue allday that it was Kobe WHO got us here.. but at the end....they will still size his finger

Would have taken a HUGE hit I think. Jordan is known as the best by most in large because of how he led his team to 6 rings in 6 straight full seasons... if the Bulls won without him people would say that it was not MJ doing all or even most of the work, it was that the Bulls had an amazing team and that Phil Jackson was much more important than MJ.
If we win it all without Kobe his legacy will take a huge hit

lol, like having 6 rings and 11 MVPs is somehow diminished because your great team did it without you 1 year

It is, do you not get it? But ok, he would still be obviously GOAT when Pippen has 7 rings and did it without Jordan.

Heck yeah.
And yes Kobe's legacy will be affected to an extent, but it will not diminish anything he's done so far.
And oh the GB will be positively unreadable for 7 years.

His legacy would take a hit my ass
No,he wouldn't be credited for his 6th ring and that's understandable, but that wouldn't drop him for the top 10 GOAT list(arguably)
He'd remain on the same spot he is now imo.....it would be absurd to drop him just like it would be absurd to say Jordan isn't GOAT if that Pippen led team would have been succesful and won it all
Btw,if Lebron got hurt somehow Miami team would STILL make the Finals at the very least, more than we'll be doing this year unfortunately(although I pray we somehow pull it through, this is afterall the LAKERS board, not Kobe board.....who gives a **** anyway about his legacy? If that's the first thing you think about about this run without him and somehow wish we don't succeed your place is on the GB,along with the other turds)
Does that hurt Lebron's legacy?Please....

100% agree, it would have hurt Jordan's legacy - right now he is seen as immortal, won 3 in a row, left, came back won 3 in a row. Had he left and they won, of course his legendary status takes a hit, you have to be absurd to not think so.
If lakers win without kobe, 100% his legacy takes a hit, of course he is still 1 of the greatest players, but this stigma will always be there, that his team won, without their best player and hero.
and yes if Lebron gets injured and miami wins, it hurts him as well - for decades to come whenever anyone brings up lebron, people will say his team was so stacked they didn't even need him.
