It’s been rare that the Lakers have gotten good news on the injury front this season, but that’s what we have in advance of Wednesday’s Game 2: reserve big man Jordan Hill has been cleared to play.

Hill, who had surgery on his left hip on Jan. 23 that included removal of loose fragments, repair of a torn labrum and a microfracture procedure to repair damaged cartilage, was expected to be out for the season.

Instead, he has steadily progressed, participating in contact drills throughout the week with no setbacks. As such, the training staff cleared him for game action.

Whether or not he plays in Game 2 will be a coaching decision, but look for him to certainly see the court soon. Hill will most likely be used as a backup center/power forward, allowing Dwight Howard and Pau Gasol additional rest, while competing for minutes with Earl Clark.

I wonder what kind of conditioning he's in but it really helps if Clark pulls another disappearing act or Metta decides to be useless. A healthy Hill could totally outwork San Antonio's bigs.

Yes!

His hustle on the offensive glass will be huge while our shooters keep tossing up those bricks.

If in shape, he'd be a tough matchup for Baynes, Bonner or Blair.
Weird to anybody else that all those guys names start with 'B.'

This is HUGE for us. His P&R defense could be the difference, not to mention the hustle on the boards. Great news!

This is totally AWESOME news!!! Have been a huge proponent of Jordan whole 1 1/2 seasons and was devestated to hear about his injury second to Kobe's.

Now he's back ( and I'm sure he wouldn't be as excited to play if he couldn't bring half his energy ) we have a killer FRONTCOURT we need to take advantage of in an old school playoff way.

DWIGHT GASOL JORDANHIlL CLARK JAMISON MWP

Who else has a front court like that?

We got to take care of business in game 2

But if not, no worries I know we got it both in home games.

We just need to take one in theirs.

I STILL BELIEVE we are playing with winning money in game 2 so we should go out there relax have fun and you never know we may win huge.

Another banger on the boards and he needs to hit those mid range jumpers off those double teams on D12 and Pau.

Hopeful he'll spark our bench the rest of the way. Good News!

Good news!!!

Let's see what he all has to offer and how many minutes we can play him.

Great job to Jordan for busting his ass to get back on the court. What a stud. Was expecting big things from him this season.

Hopefully we can keep Pau/Dwight a little fresher, control the boards, get some easy put-backs, and maybe slide Clark up to the 3?

Excited to see Jordan's impact on the team's psyche/effort.

he might be cleared but i wouldn't be shocked if he doesn't play tonight. Then again if Earl Clark keeps playing like he has D'Antoni will have no other choice but to give Hill some burn.

I would give him some minutes, but I doubt that D'antoni does.

D'antoni plays Hill (after injurty) big minutes. Then, he gets injured again <_< Classic D'antoni.
