COMMENTARY

So this is what it has come to, 1 game....1 game that could very well turn this franchise over totally next season. We've been decimated by injuries all season to the point now where it's left us totally undermanned. Yet delusional fans outside the Laker fan base really think the Spurs are beating the supposed team we imagined we'd see for 82 games. But in 82 games our team only put together the starting 5 for less than 25 games. But outsiders don't care, they still revel in the fact that it's still the "Lakers".

Being real about it.....it's a cowards point of view. Sports is about competing head to head. Yeah injury is an element of sports. But when you lose a franchise player, you just lost all chances to win in the first place.

So it's 1 game that's gonna decide who stays and who goes. The one thing you can't be is sympathetic. It's the number 1 reason in sports why some teams don't come out of ruts they get into. We're in a rut and have been for at least the last 3 seasons. Bottom line is we're going to be watching some guys perform for the last time in a Laker uniform. We've all been so hardened by this season and the past two that we know it's time to start it over. But first just win 1 game......we're gonna see who has pride for that Lakers on the front of that jersey.

Don't let them win in this building, we've own them in the playoffs in Staples in the past. Just gotta find some heart. We need to just to control the tempo to our liking, a game in the low 90's is winnable. But for every game so far the Spurs have had that "hero"....last game was Duncan, then we keep letting their bench take advantage.

Gotta stay home on the guys you know can hit the 3. With them you have to chase them off that 3 and put pressure on other parts of their offense. I don't think Duncan can put in another game like that again. Dwight has to stay in the game mentally, the Spurs have made their damage when Howard goes to the bench.

Also I don't think Andrew will be a timid to shoot early this time, he looked shaky in Game 3 in fear of not wanting to mess up. This time start letting it fly early, I believe he can hit some early that can charge the crowd.

Dwight+Pau must exceed 50pts and 25rebs if we are going to win. It is doable vs Duncan and red mamba. Go in early and often and either get them in foul trouble or playing cautiously.

Win or lose the season has been good if you consider the injuries. Lakers went from a non-playoff team to a playoff team and had a good run. Problem was the team just didn't have the whole season to mesh. And when they finally started getting it together, Kobe goes down. Next season the Lakers will be a lot better.

I think the Lakers can win this. Have some pride out there. Hey, if the someone win other guys might start to come back. You never know. The young guys need to be aggressive and attack. The Spurs still aren't that great.
