Could Coach Doug Collins be a fit for the Lakers?

He plans to resign from the 76ers. Thing with doug collins is he commands respect. No one questions his IQ and knowledge. He elevated philly in his 1st two seasons and really made the most of their talent.
Even kobe will do what collins wants. I also think kobe realizes now why a player cant make coaching decisions...because then it leads to ridiculous ideas like playing 48 minutes a game.
Phil will not coach. If the Lakers get Collins I think that might even be more incentive for dwight to stay

Doug Collins, the guy who never gets anywhere and wears out his welcome with his entire team after a couple years?

yeah let's hire an unproven coach in shaw and another coach in Rambis who's career record as a HC is Bobcats level.

Phil is looking for a job similar to Jerry West, we should be able to accommodate that. It let's the fans know that Phil won't be coaching but he is with the organization.

We NEED Nate McMillan, PERIOD... Players will respect him, he has great defensive schemes and is a Players Coach... Assuming we keep Howard, we can be a SOLID defensive team with some personal moves... Kobe, Meeks, Hill & Howard play SOLID defense... Blake plays hard as well... If we get a few pieces, we can be solid on defense...

You don't want Nate McMillan. His play calling is atrocious. Trust me.

No, god no. That dude is not a good coach at all, I'd rather keep MDA, and that's saying something.

Only good thing about Nate McMillan is that we'd play the slowest in the league and might bore some of our opponents to sleep and get some wins

What's wrong with that? Spurs do it every year and they whooped our asses. lol

Why not Lester's job? Then bring in a Shaw or Rambis and let him consult him.

I do love Dug Cllins mind. He's insightful. He's better at X's and O's than Dantoni and Brown. Makes better adjustments. Handles media better. He can be demanding though, sometimes way too much, but his mind for the game is better than what we have had since Phil left. He manages rotations better. His knock that is he doesn't take **** from youth, didnt with Kwame, didnt with Bynum and all his excuses, just didnt take the **** which is why I wonder about Dwight

You're living in the past, Spurs don't play slow anymore.
28th in pace in 2008
26th in 2009
20th in 2010
14th in 2011
7th in 2012
6th in 2013
The Spurs know how to adjust to their personnel and have been playing faster every year.
