Give me your two realistic team hypotheticals for next season. One team WITH Dwight, one team WITHOUT Dwight. Mine are as follows:

WITH DWIGHT - Wright for the mini MLE, Tolliver for the vets min.
PG - Steve Nash/Steve Blake/Rookie
SG - Kobe Bryant/Jodie Meeks/Rookie
SF - Dorell Wright/Earl Clark
PF - Pau Gasol/Anthony Tolliver
C - Dwight Howard/Jordan Hill

WITHOUT DWIGHT - Lamar Odom for the vets min, Dorell Wright once again for the mini MLE
PG - Steve Nash/Steve Blake/Rookie
SG - Kobe Bryant/Jodie Meeks/Rookie
SF - Metta World Peace/Earl Clark
PF - Dorell Wright/Lamar Odom
C - Pau Gasol/Jordan Hill

Hopefully we can stay competitive for a season and then the real moves begin.

No kobe for much of the season. The lakers should just tank for wiggins

Even if Dwight bolts, there's no way the Lakers could tank enough for Wiggins.

Plus, they have to field some type of team to sell seats, especially those of the court - side variety.

Lakers and tank don't go in the same sentence. and it's too early to tell if kobe will be ready or not. but he seems ahead of schedule. i expect him to be ready for opener...or miss a month at most.

To OP, we're gonna have a hard time getting a guy like Tolliver to sign for the $3 mil MLE. He's worth a little more than that.

we need to get danny granger, tyler hansbrough for pau.

pg - nash/blake
sg - kobe/meeks
sf - granger/artest
pf - clark/hansbrough
c - howard/hill

and obviously make some small acquisitions and developing mini mamba

Dwight's not going anywhere. I would honestly be shocked if he turned down the extra 20+ million.

Tolliver would be thrilled with 3 mil.

why? he's been on what like 3-4 teams in the last 3-4 years? what has he done to warrant anything more than vet min?

And so the Dwight situation has started. I don't want to call it drama because the only way it can be drama is if Dwight makes it that way. Last summer I was real abrasive about the situation, but this time around I'm gonna be more laid back. Like I've said in the past, if he wants to walk.....he walks.

And I know guys are gonna repeatedly say he'll stay, but as it was said today he can take a shorter deal with some team and recoup it later. It makes plenty of sense when you think about it.

And if he stays I would be happy with that too. So this is on D12, the only thing the fans can do is hope. But I'm past hoping.....whatever happens, just happens.

the only thing I dont see these writers acknowledge is additional money he could lose by not being in a big market in regards to marketability. While the article noted he isn't liked as much now and he doesn't get to do much commercial, how would going to a market like Hou/Dall help that matter? I also share your sentiment about if he walks he walks and I dont really care I just find it comical those morons on the T&T board really think we'd be SOL if he walked and rather do a S&T to take on a bunch of garbage

"According to sources with knowledge of the situation, part of the discussion between Howard and Kupchak centered around Howard's frustration with D'Antoni -- particularly how the center felt marginalized as the coach looked to Bryant and Steve Nash for leadership and suggestions and discounted Howard's voice"

Maybe we need to discuss hypotheticals without dantoni

Kupchak has made it clear that D'Antoni's job is safe. I see him having one full season with training camp, then he's on the chopping block.

If Howard's biggest issue is really that his opinions didn't have as much weight as Kobe and Nash, his value dropped a couple more points for me.
Who takes the class clown seriously?

I honestly don't see the fixation with firing D'Antoni. The difference between Mike Brown and him is night and day and I actually liked watching more of this season than the season before just because the offense was a lot more free flowing and tolerable atleast in the later half of the season and you didn't have a clown on the sideline calling out plays on every possession.

Free flowing? More like let Kobe handle the ball 24/7, play him all 48 minutes and pray for a win. Even Kobe ignored Mike D's offensive plans so many times throughout the season. Kobe never told Mike that he was gonna go into facilitator mode, he forced Pau into the post not Mike D, this dude is a **** clown and should be fired ASAP.

He doesn't agree with your assessment

“I think there’s been far too much criticism of Mike [D'Antoni],”

“I think it’s grossly unfair to him. He inherited a team that had a bunch of injuries,” [he] said. “He inherited a team without a training camp. I think he’s done a nice job, to be honest with you.
