If Dwight decides to leave for houston, what do we do? Yes, we can completely tank this season in order for the 2014 free agency but i just dont think the lakers organization will do that.We cant have Gasol play at center. So who do we bring in?

Confused as to why we can't have Pau play center..

If Dwight leaves, why cant Pau play center? As it was quite obvious during the past season or so that Pau has been more effective playing the 5 position then the 4 position. Who else could we honestly get that would be better then a healthy Pau at the 5?

I dont think pau can play a full 82 game season at center. Anyways, if we move pau to center than move hill to starting pf,that just makes our bench even weaker

i actually think playing center would help pau. playing pf means he has to move around a ton on defense trying to keep up with a player that is 99% of the time younger and/or quicker. at center he can plop himself down in the paint on both ends.

If Dwight goes then Pau will be our 5 I thought that was obvious, he's much better there than he is at PF.....

Fun fact of the day:

... hahaha ... it's obvious that pau will be the C when dwight leaves ... that's why we are not trading pau at the moment yet because he is the back up plan ... and i believe that pau will excel at C once dwight decides to sign somewhere else ... we still have hill and sacre as back up Cs ... problem solved ...

Start Gasol at center, and then sign a 260 pound guy as a backup.

Keep Hill as a backup of Pau and sign instead a competent stretch 4 that can space the floor. Start Kobe at SF and Meeks at SG. If we lose Dwight, no more reason to avoid smallball.

Hill-Pau was L.A.'s best duo.

What will likely happen is they sign K-Mart for the vet. minimum. K-Mart was league average at C last year in NY. They'd need to get one more guy though to make it a rotation. (A 24 mpg guy at PF, perhaps Copeland).

If Howard leaves which I think he will, the Lakers need to move all long term contract for short term ones or draft picks. Keep Pau, move him to center permanently and build around him with temp role player that will highlight his skills. Try to keep an eye out for young potential stars who want out. The first on the Lakers watch list should be Demarcus Cousins.

Hopefully the Lakers can collect enough trading chips to get Cousins when he becomes available. Im predicting he will wear out his welcome soon in Sacramento.

And maybe like the Laker did with Divac, may be they can find a playoff team who had bad luck year and got in the lotto that would want Gasol for a lotto pick and get a young stud to go along with Cousins.

Jordan Hill & Pau Gasol still one of the best 5 rotation in the NBA.

now let think about Lakers 4 situation.
