Daniel Artest speaks on real reason Phil wasnt hired

Post#1 » by leeprettyp » Mon Jul 8, 2013 2:49 pm

But don't blame Mitch. Everything he tried to do this season to improve the culture of the team was overruled by Jimbo. They had Phil in the bag. But Jimbo hired dantoni without Mitch knowledge. Mitch can only do so much. From what I've heard from several agents that it was Mitch that could've improved the roster this season but Jim wanted to wait to 2014 or 2015. That's is as inside as it gets. (yes. I'm cool with agents. Ron son is a 6'7 14yr old with game. They on him early)

http://forums.lakersground.net/viewtopic.php?t=162427&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=400

He posted that on the Laker underground website.. He's verified through the admins on there and they say it is actually him.. I just dont see why the guy would lie about this. This would then make ALOT more sense why Stephen A. Smith has pushed the agenda that this is all Jim Buss doing. Then also proves why reports of Jeanie Buss not talking to Jim for weeks.

Feedback in regards to Daniel Artest statement.

Any "inside information" from Daniel Artest should be taken with a grain of salt.

I mean seriously. It's Artest's brother.

Seems Jimbo is really having wet dreams about getting Lebron here regardless of the consequences of not getting him. I think this cap space 2014 thing is overrated for us

Do we really know though that Phll Jackson wanted the coaching job?

I still can't envision him taking the job into the season and trying to teach a whole new system of basketball with his age and injuries

Jeanie Buss has been on record saying she believes he would've taken the job. Kurt Rambis said it was a 50/50 thing. But everybody says Phil wasnt even given a chance to make a decision either way. Dwight's on record now stating he told Jim Buss he wanted Phil

You know why I believe this statement... Its because I remember back in the day when Jim originally was given the reigns to start making moves he was penny pinching and ready to waste all of Kobe's prime because he was focusing on the 2011 Free agency that had Lebron, Melo, Wade and Bosh heading that class. You guys remember that? It wasnt until Kobe went on his trade me tirade that Jerry took back the reigns of the team and Mitch pulled the Gasol trade that very season. This is really sounding like deja vu all over again. We havent even begain fielding a roster yet

People, please remember it was Jim who scouted Bynum and drafted him while no one even knew who he was. Bynum turned into a star pretty quickly and we won 2 rings because of his presence in the middle. Ok maybe it had more to do with Odom and Gasol, but you know what I mean.

The truth to that story is Ronnie Lester (who was fired) found Andrew Bynum not Jim Buss

Daniel doesn't know anything. He constantly has lied on twitter for attention as well. The fact that you even posted this here is just.........

Someone please lock this.

Daniel Artest also guaranteed Dwight Howard was going to resign because of the money the day before he signed with Houston. He is a life long Spurs fan and he loves to troll Lakers fans. I would take what he says with a grain of salt, even if he did "hear" it from someone else.

This morning SAS was talking about how the buss family went to Jim and convinced him into getting rid of D'Antoni and was on the verge in doing so but with that winning stream they went on to finish the season. Jim was against it and saying you see it's working out trying to validate his decision in hiring him.

I swear the more reports I hear about Jim the more I despise him.

Im not goin on this guys information, it could prove unreliable. However, I do want to comment on the proposition of saving up for "THE BIG ONE" in 2014. Now im not sayin THE BIG ONE is LeBron, but I am saying saving up for any "BIG ONE" is risky. Heres why? The big named free agents don't want to see a gutted team. They want to play with other names or big named talent. (see big 3 Celtics/big 3 LAKERs/big 3 heat etc..) So if we wait around for the big thing, and miss??....

I've tried really hard to find ways to defend Jim Buss but the more and more the same exact reports are coming out from different people about the kind of person he is... How arent others catching on to the recurring theme here? :-?

Thats the problem IMO... There isnt a back up plan, we'll end up being the Dallas Mavs a team with cap space just hoping to wait until certain players become available in 2-3 years smh..

Not at all surprising, this is what I have assumed all along.

The fact is that Jim Buss has the ability right now to do what he wants, Mitch has to answer to him. The dynamic of Jeannie & Phil will always be an interesting back story, but I think at this point it would take a lot to have Phil back in the mix.

Jim wants to make this his team, he has already started this process and will see it through. If nothing else, I think it is great that we have Phil on board as somewhat of an unofficial ambassador to help to make things happen. The Lakers family & Laker nation is a tight bunch, we will all figure this out, I just wish it was Phil at the helm and not Mike D.

Just have to play this all out.
Ball so hard.

SAS this morning on First Take said Dwight called him to ask him to report that he was signing with Houston, during the call SAS asked Dwight, if PJ was the coach would you be leaving, DH answer was a flat out NO I would be staying with the Lakers.

SAS also said..... in the end without PJ you have to have faith in Jim Buss and there nobody with sense that has faith in Jim buss.

SAS also said about Jim Buss, "he scares me, whatever is the wrong move he will figure out how to make it"

To be honest Jim Buss needs to be at that season ticket holder town hall and not just send Mitch by himself to handle the angry fans. Jim needs to speak up more and answer some questions himself

I highly doubt that SAS got a phone call from Dwight.

Already been confirmed that they spoke on Friday night. And anyway ESPN isn't going to allow one of their biggest names to go on air, in relation to a story that large, and allow him to lie about something like that.
