Apparently this has been done before, but I will be running the Lakers fantasy draft team.

The rules are simple.
We will be having a draft where realgm users draft a team of six players and one coach that have played only in the Lakers.
I will randomize the order of users to make it fair with this
Once we have the lottery set, we will begin drafting.

1) I am only taking a maximum of 20 people to see if it works out well.
2) Any one can join whether you are a Lakers fan or not, but regular posters on the board will have higher consideration.
3) To sign up, post on this thread with your username and email address where you can be contacted so you know when it is your turn to draft.
4) The Draft will be a snake one
5) Please be aware that this is a commitment and if you are not going to be here to participate than please do not join.
6) There is no trading of picks

Draft
The draft will have 7 rounds. In the first 6 rounds you will be drafting players that have played for the Lakers for at least one full season (doesnt have to be 82 games). The last round will be coaches. To make things interesting, you can only pick a coach that is currently in the NBA (2013)
-Rounds 1-3 you will have 6 Hours per pick
-Rounds 4-6 you will have 5 Hours per pick
-Round 7 you will have 4 Hours

Once the user selects his pick it is his job to email/PM the next user and the six hour count will begin.
If the user does not select in their allotted amount of time he will have to wait till the draft is over and choose from whatever players are left over.
(Also once you choose your player do not edit your pick.)

Judging
The users that are in the draft will be judging the teams.


-Team Chemistry

-Offense

-Defense

-Intangibles(This includes things like killer instinct, hustling and other things that don't show up in the stat sheet.)

-GM's Word (You will defend your team by giving a brief explanation as to why your team is the best. no longer than 5 sentences)


This is the timeline
-Signups begin today July 13
-Sign Ups close July 20 12:00 am PST (Draft order will be also done)
-Draft begins on the 21st 12:00 PM PST
-Voting TBD

FAQ
-To keep it simple players will be drafted as if they were in their prime.
-Whenever you draft a player please put a picture of them as a rookie or them being drafted for fun
-If you miss more than one round you will be removed from the game.
-I am not sure what winners will get, but if the mods allow it I would suggest that they be put as the top poster of the Lakers board for the year until the next draft. At worst you will get bragging rights.
-Players that have at one time or another played for the Lakers are eligible. This includes the Minneapolis Lakers.

If the mods agree I would say to be top poster of the board, but its up to them.

i think u might be overestimating the list of players to only play for the lakers

yeah 30 is way way too many, and you wont get that many people to join anyways. i think you should limit it to at the most 8 people. pretty much all of the talent will be gone in the first 10-15 picks and then youll be left with nothing but role players.


would probably be best with only 6 people.

I think I wrote it wrong. It is players that have at one time or another played for the Lakers. For example Dwight would eligible.

Okay so I have lowered it to six players and one coach. I have also set the limit to 20.

That is 120 players that will be chosen. and 20 coaches.
if there is less than it will be fine.

Players that have at one time or another played for the lakers. As long as they donned the Lakers uniform they are eligible.

It can be coaches, assistant coaches, advisors.
