Kiszla: Feel free to picture Pau Gasol in a Nuggets uniform

Post#1 » by WCDYNASTY » Mon Jul 15, 2013 12:51 am

Pau Gasol or Rajon Rondo could be possibilities for the Nuggets if the Lakers or Celtics decide to really blow things up, writes Mark Kiszla of The Denver Post. The Nuggets are armed with a trade exception of nearly $10MM from the Andre Iguodala trade and have added flexibility to pull of a deal.

What would we want from Denver though? Unless the lakers get. Third team involved

He does know Pau makes 20 million and they only have a 10 million trade exception right? And the only bad contract we have is Nash but we could always buy him out.

Wilson Chandler, Anthony Randolph, and Dorell Arthur would be a start. Still doesn't make sense for us to trade Pau right now though.

Would be hard to see something happen here... aside from the $10M exception and draft picks the only player I'd see the Lakers trading for is Kenneth Faried ($1.3m / 2 yrs), that leaves another $7m to $8m in salary to match. Pau makes $19m.

Yeah I heard if we do buy out Nash in his final year we can spread out the hit over 3 years too. So Nash's deal isn't too bad.

I hope this doesn't happen and Gasol retires a Laker. I hope he can help get us another championship; and I hope he gets the recognition as one of the great Laker bigs.

Keep pau as a laker for one more year. He deserves it and want to see us retire his number.

I agree, I want to see Pau retire as a Laker as well.

Maybe TPE to Boston for Rondo, Rondo to LA and Pau to Denver... I think with Rondo soon to be a FA, he might have some leverage over where he plays.

Now that would be interesting! I'd love to see Rondo with the Lakers. Man, can you imagine Kobe playing with Rondo... that's as intense as you get!

Then again, would the Celtics ever want to do a trade with their biggest rival? Not sure about that.

from reading that short article it seems obvious the author has no idea that you can't combine player salaries with a TPE to make salaries match.

thread worthiness? 1 out of 10

doesn't work like that. a 10 mil TPE means the team that has it can only take on 10 mil, so neither Rondo or Pau who make more than that are going to be involved in any trade involving that Denver TPE.

Actually they may have a chance to get Rondo. If they provide several young pieces (e.g. Faried, Fournier, Randolph) to get Rondo and use their TPE to absorb Wallace contract.

That would be an interesting trade, I think Drummond is going to be a beast. If he got traded to the Lakers I'm sure Kobe would be able to keep him in check.

Pg doesn't have to shoot if you got kobe
How's this for an almost unbelievable Laker trivia: The Lakers will miss the playoffs this year for the 3rd time since 1976.

10 Million TPE for a 20 million dollar player as his reason. the guy should be ashamed of himself.
