The Miami Heat will be getting their 2013 NBA championship rings in front of the Chicago Bulls. Their fans then will get to enjoy their Christmas dinner watching the Heat from afar, against the Los Angeles Lakers.
And, by the way, that last little tidbit is pretty interesting as well.
By Christmas, Kobe Bryant could be back on the floor as well, and while the Los Angeles Lakers sputtered to a grinding halt with Bryant on the shelf in the playoffs, they always have the potential to create excitement.
The opener between Miami and Chicago is currently scheduled for October 29 in Miami, though Winderman notes that all games on the tentative schedule are subject to change before it is officially released.
Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports also reported on the tentative NBA schedule, highlighting another juicy matchup that will feature Bryant and the Lakers:
As Kobe Bryant rehabilitates his torn Achilles tendon, there will undoubtedly be a date circled on his and the Los Angeles Lakers' schedule: A Nov. 7 trip to Houston to meet the Rockets and center Dwight Howard.

We beat the Knicks last season on Christmas Day, I'm expecting for us to do the same to the Heat.

As far as the Christmas Day game goes I just hope the team is more in tune with each other and won't turn the ball over every single god damn possession. Last year it was a joke, the heat scored all their points with dunks off of TO's.

I don't care who we play, this team will be a lot more fun to watch next season.

Yeah, I did not enjoy watching most games last season. It seemed like everything was a dog fight and they could never pull away...even against terrible teams. And chemistry and cohesiveness was just not there. Hard to watch. Even when they started winning more it didn't feel right. Hopefully it will be better with a full training camp and the cancer Howard gone. I think it will be much better.

As much as a I love watching the Lakers on Christmas Day, it always seems as if we play like we don't want to be there. Phil always came out and admitted he never liked playing on Christmas Day, and he acted as if the Lakers didn't have to prove anything just because everyone is watching. I know Kobe loves playing on that day, because he's just a competitor.
We always seem to lose on Xmas day. We won last year, but the Knicks played pretty bad and we weren't so great, which isn't surprising.
