2-year deal, according to Woj on Twitter.

Harris was very solid for the Gonzaga Bulldogs in his 4-year career.

So, the reports that the lakers lost interest in lamar may be true. would he play the 4?

He played well at the 4 in summer league. As of now he's the bench 4. I'd expect them to add one more veteran probably L.O.

Yes he played the four in college and fits in more as a four due to his speed which is not the fastest.

I hope so as well for he hit like 43% on 3s in his NBA D-League stint taking 8 a game I believe and if any1 watch the Summer League he is not one dimensional when it comes to getting buckets from other parts of the floor.

Why is he the only one getting a contract signed apart from Sacre? << I didn't think we wanted anyone on the books?

He's a Matt Barnes 3 away from being a solid player as he shot .17% from 3 as a senior on 1.4 attempts but strangely one year before that on 2.1 three pt attempts he shot 41% from down town. So he has the ability to shoot but seems to have lost it and it was evident in his Summer League play except for like the 4 game against the Warriors.

Zag fan here. Harris has tried to add a three pointer to his game to transition to being a wing player in the NBA, but he is definitely more of a natural face up power forward. Personally, having watched all his games this past year, I think he will stick in the NBA. He's got a really good work ethic and competitive drive, plus he is much more skilled than your average energy bench big. His stats will tell you that he isn't great from deep (didn't hit much from outside the arc this year), but he has a nice reliable face up jumper and is good at banking it in from midrange. After his freshman year, there was talk of him declaring for the draft and being a possible lottery pick, but he decided to return and his stock steadily decreased since then (although his production remained fairly consistent). He played with Celtics rookie Kelly Olynyk last year and the two were probably the best 4/5 combo in the nation. Those two really complimented each other well, and playing with a NBA quality big, in Olynyk, Harris' good passing ability was on full display (should remind everyone that his stats last season were playing alongside a 1st team all-American). You'll be surprised by his offensive repertoire, very capable of going coast to coast or facing up and blowing by defenders of the dribble. There's obviously limited upside due to his age and size, but Harris is the epitome of a bench big to me. He's hyper athletic and super bouncy, and should get on the receiving end of plenty of Nash alley oops. I'd compare him to Trevor Booker or a more offensive oriented Lou Amundson. Needs to work on rebounding at an NBA level, and become more effective defensively (he's no slouch though, gives good effort). Doesn't suffer from lack of effort or BBIQ, like some of your former bench players, and is better than Sacre in my mind (though, I don't know how much that says to you guys lol). Anyways, you guys got a good one...serviceable, bouncy, and team player are the words that come to mind

This is a really good, albeit long, video on the Zags season that has a lot of footage of E (what we call Elias) and should give you a better idea what kind of a player he is:

It's Nash's contract that you should be most worried @ 9mill than a rookie who's contract is peanuts for next year and it will probably either be non guaranteed, team option, and waived.

Lakers' intent is to sign two more players on partial-guarantee minimum deals. Those players will come from ...

INB4 the pissing and moaning over a minimum rookie who will make around $500K this year with likely a non guarantee next year. This is a solid, low risk-medium reward signing. Harris looked very good in summer league play and had a pretty good 4 years at Gonzaga as well. Here's the breakdown:

STRENGTHS:
-Excellent hustle/garbageman-has a nose for loose balls
-Solid rebounder on both ends of the floor
-Terrific second jump
-Great (and deceiving) athleticism
-Versatility to defend multiple positions
-Off ball slashing/movement
-High IQ
-Good bulk
-Decent mid range game
-Good finisher
-High motor

WEAKNESSES:
-Inconsistent shooter
-Can't really change directions off the dribble
-Ball handling not so great
-Tweener at the NBA level

Shooting as a weakness is not terribly concerning because it's the easiest skill to fix. He's around 6-8, 220-230 and his game is definitely more of a PF currently, so he's a tweener for the moment. Still, his ability to rebound the ball and mix it up in the paint is very good; Matt Barnes-like in that regard. Barnes has always had a shaky shot as well but has carved out a nice journeyman niche for himself in the league-can easily see Harris do the same and even more. Solid signing, and I suspect a lot of people who haven't watched him play or don't know who he is will be pleasantly surprised come training camp/pre-season.

Best case: Poorman's Shawn Marion
Average: Matt Barnes/Trenton Hassell
Worst: Joey Graham

I guess... would've preferred to sign Odom and Daye or even a proven young wing defender in James Johnson

Current depth chart?

G - Nash/Blake/Farmar
G - Bryant/Meeks
F - Young/Johnson
F - Hill/Harris
C - Gasol/Kaman/Sacre

Still not sure how Farmar/Meeks fit in.

I actually think we just got a HUGE steal. Sign CDR and Marcus Landry and let's move on. I think we are going to play sfs like they are pfs in Dantoni's offense (ala Diaw & Marion).

Nash/Farmar/Blake
Kobe/Blake/Meeks/Landry
Young/Johnson/CDR/Harris
Hill/CDR/S.Williams/Harris/Landry
Pau/Kaman/Hill/Sacre
