Good for Marcus. He's been hanging around the league for a while now. Rooting for him to get over the hump and make the team.

Glad we took a chance on a YOUNG player than a player that has a lot of baggage...(Lamar Odom). I know these young guys are willing to play defense. I know the energy will be high every night.

We literately forgot about the other side of the court in my opinion. Man we got enough offensive players already

That'll be a huge mistake if we did that.. He's our only get dirty and tough interior player on the defensive end

Do you guys think jordan hill will even get significant playing time this year with Johnson and Kelly and Kaman there to play pf? Mike rarely played him when they were together in New York.

First of all Johnson and Kaman can't really play PF and Kelly probably won't get playing time.

So then you think Hill is going to get big minutes?

Glad to have him on board. If he plays hard, he will get minutes. Simple as that.

Johnson will get PF time ala Marion or Barnes under Dantoni, don't kid yourself. Likewise Kelly's foot is the only thing keeping him from a signed deal, heck he would've went higher in the draft if it wasnt an issue.
And no Hill ain't to be relied on, he hasn't logged over 15mpg in his career yet stays hurt. Hes a glass man both in game and body.
But as for Landry, he busted his ass hard in SL alongside Harris and they took Hudson and CDRs showcase spotlight

From Mike Dantonis past. Marion was an all star SF before he went to Phoenix, and Dantoni made him a PF. Barnes when he signed there after GS played for him and he used him as a PF. Clark and MWP were both 3s used as PFs. Wes will be used there like Blake will see SG time and Meeks may see SF time alongside Farmar, for reference see him playing Barbosa, House, and Bell all together

First of all Shawn Marion was drafted by Phoenix, where he played his first 8.5 seasons.
Secondly, Shawn Marion was a great defender and very good rebounder. He had the size and ability to make running PF work. Same goes for Barnes, but obviously to a lesser extent. His game is more about hustle and put-backs, using his athleticism to get in there and mix it up. He could rebound at an above average rate....Wes has only ever averaged 2.4 per game.....Also if you check his past 3 seasons, Wes has never played more than 0% (ZERO PERCENT) of his team's total power forward minutes....You're expecting MDA to suddenly play him there in bunches?
Winning is about rebounding as much as it is defense. Judging from the fact that their games are simply different, I don't see the comparison to Marion or even Barnes. Harris, despite being a rookie, I might see. But Johnson? Not based on his game.
Also, the whole predicting MDA's past behavior by judging his past is cloudy. Look at him discussing starting Pau AND Kaman. Keeping Pau as the PF could potentially be disastrous, but talk of keeping a "twin towers" in the startling line-up shows MDA's not exactly going super-small ball.

Re: Marcus Landry gets a camp invite
shawn marion's size, defense, and rebounding made him a great option at pf. this wasn't a case of a sf masquerading as a pf.
barnes actually played a majority of his minutes at small-forward with phoenix but did in fact have some minutes at pf. i think crazyeights covers why barnes, a similar body type to johnson, makes a lot more sense at pf. more important is that in 08-09 when barnes played for phoenix, MDA was coaching the Knicks.
clark has always seen most of his minutes at pf. if you look at his splits where he played 66% at pf and 33% at sf with the lakers this yr, he actually played small-forward way more than ever before under MDA. the yr before with orlando he played 75% of his minutes at pf and the yr before around 90% of his minutes at pf.
MWP, his utter strength and defensive talents make him not even comparable to johnson.

Landry can be that stretch 4. He and Harris can succeed in that tweener role.
and what's the gripe with Hill? haven't you watched him last yeae where Mike D was the coach? they're over his NY stint and LA's a different situation where Hill was effective.
