Team Earl
C: Wilt Chamberlain- Self explanatory
F: Connie Hawkins- One of the greatest forwards to play the game
F: Cedric ceballos- Athleticism
G: Eddie Jones- Mini Kobe
G: Brian Shaw
6th Man: Derek Fisher

Coach: Frank Vogel
GM's word: The second I got Wilt, I knew my offense would be run through the half court. The ball will be force fed into Wilt as the first option and then Mr. Hawkins as the second option. Brian Shaw and Derek Fishers job is to basically bring the ball up the court pass it up to my bigs and shoot the open three whenever the clog the lane. Eddie Jones and Cedric can shoot the three as well and also run the floor when needed. Derek Fisher as my sixth man was needed so he can replace Shaw during the last minutes of the game hitting clutch shots and just overall using his hustle/intangibles on the offensive as well as the defensive end of the floor.
Defense:
Frank Vogel will preach defense and having Wilt anchor the defense is anyones dream (No one is coming into EArl's paint with the big dipper waiting for you). Every player I have is a capable defender and with Vogels help will learn to play great team defense.

Team LakeShow

PG: Norm Nixon
SG: James Worthy
SF: Elgin Baylor
PF: Kurt Rambis
C: Elmore Smith
6th man: Isaiah Rider
Head Coach: Doc Rivers

The balance of my team is ridiculous in it's own right, more importantly my entire starting lineup fits well and they are all efficient players. Baylor is an offensive machine who is considered the LeBron James of his generation while James Worthy can hit the big shot in any big game and he spent some time playing SG for his teams where he was a complete mismatch for the opposing defender. Kurt Rambis did all of the dirty work for his teams - rebounding, defense, hustle; while Elmore Smith was a man amongst boys on the glass and he played wonderful defense who was known for his elite shotblocking abilities. Norm Nixon was a major player during the Showtime Lakers era (15/8/2 statiscally) as a point guard and his abilities fit this uptempo team greatly, it is not often that you find an uptempo team that can play elite defense as well. The scoring off the bench provided by Rider in his prime is almost second to none during his time playing. Doc Rivers is a hall of fame coach who can get the most out of his players both defensively and offensively and most importantly his players will leave it all out on the court for him.

Team TyCobb

PG Jerry West
"Combine a deadly jump shot, tenacious defense, obsessive perfectionism, unabashed confidence, and an uncompromising will to win, and you've got Jerry West, one of the greatest guards in NBA history."

SG Byron Scott
Efficient shooter, plays passing lanes well, and great locker room presence.

SF Adrian Dantley
"On the court, the athletic Dantley was as smooth an outside shooter as could be, a force on the inside with an explosive first step, and a master of psychology."

PF A.C. Green
The Ironman. Great role player, solid defense, and even better makeup.

C Mychal Thompson
Another High BBIQ guy. Great teammate, passer, and efficient scorer. Also great makeup.

6th man: Jim McMillian
Replaced Elgin Baylor and led the Lakers to their 33-game record win streak. Was later traded for C Elmore Smith.

Head Coach: Erik Spoelstra
Can manage team-first ego exceptionally well. Fits the uptempo personnel of roster.

This team is made up of some of basketball's greatest human beings. Led by Hall of Famers Jerry West and Adrian Dantley, this team will have no problem gelling as a unit nor being highly competitive. The teams' goal was to put together a group of highly successful athletes who are efficient offensively, pass the ball well, and athletic to get up and down the court. Really feel that chemistry should play a big role when it comes to winning. All great character guys.

Team Swarming Defense

pg: Archie Clark

"Clark was one of the first effective practitioners of the crossover dribble, which inspired his nickname "Shake and Bake." In his prime he was a legitimate offensive threat putting up 25 ppg on 47% shooting along with 8apg.

sg: Doug Christie

"developed into one of the league's best defenders, perennially named to the NBA All-Defensive Team; also he was recognized as one of the best 3pt-shooters during this time."

sf: Michael Cooper

"Larry Bird has said that Cooper was the best defender he faced."

pf: Bob McAdoo

"McAdoo's style was very modern for his time. Although a 'big man' at 6 ft 9 in, he had no problems taking shots from the perimeter, which, in his prime, made him a nearly unstoppable force on offense."

c: Dwight Howard

"On April 18, 2011, Howard won the NBA’s Defensive Player of the Year Award, becoming the first player in league history to have won the award in three consecutive seasons."

6th man: Anthony Peeler

"During the 03–04 season, he led the league in three-point field goal percentage, 48.2. During that season's playoffs, Peeler threw an elbow at former Wolves teammate Kevin Garnett, followed by a left hook;"

Coach: Gregg Popovich

No commentary needed

GM's Word:

Offense: My team's attack will focus on McAdoo's all-time level scoring (3 straight scoring titles) that is able to go to the perimeter surrounded by a great finisher at the rim in Howard and very capable shooters in Cooper, Christie, and Peeler. Archie Clark's elite scoring and playmaking will serve as a secondary attack along with Howard's offensive rebounding.

Rebounding: McAdoo was the last player to average 30/15 and was always in the league's top 10, Howard is one of the greatest rebounders of all time, rebounding will not be an issue at all.

Defense: I believe this is where my team will absolutely shine. Guarding the paint is one of the greatest paint protectors of all time in Dwight Howard along with McAdoo who was in the league's top 5 in blocks several yrs. Michael Cooper and Doug Christie are going to absolutely wreck perimeter scorers.

Team Simba:

PG: Sedale Threatt
Specialized in playing tough fast handed defense, hence nicknamed "The Thief". Very sharp and accurate passer, also an efficient scorer when his number was called.

SG: Kobe Bryant
No explanation needed. Simply one of the greatest of all time.

SF: Jim Pollard
Exceptional all around athlete, primarily known for his leaping ability. Extremely versatile player during the era who could play multiple positions.

PF: Lamar Odom
Extremely skilled passer, versatile, and high IQ basketball player with an ability to play 3, 4, or the 5. Too strong and lengthy for opposing threes, too quick for opposing fours and fives. Poses match up issues.

C: Vlade Divac
Widely regarded as one of the passing big men to ever play the game. He was more mobile the most centers and a good shooter from distance, also was very discipline and fundamentally found.

6th man: Donnie Freeman
Career 18.9 ppg. 4x ABA all-star.

HC: Mike Brown
One of the best defensive coaches in the game today. Career 65% win percentage, and has never failed to make the playoffs in his 7 seasons as a hc.

---

My goal was ultimately to surround Kobe with players who can compliment him. This squad is full of efficient scorers who excel as passing the ball and playing unselfish basketball. Versatility could pose alot of matchup issues, and make the team a really tough cover. There might not be a lot of defensive standouts on my roster but I expect Mike Brown to mask that with his defensive expertise. All in all I think this team has a alot of potential to succeed on both ends of the court as long as guys play within the scope of their roles.

G: Steve Nash
G: Glen Rice
F: Caron Butler
F: Theo Ratliff
C: Pau Gasol

6th man: Matt Barnes

Head Coach: Tom Thibodeau

I think my team is pretty straight forward. The goal was to surround Nash with the shooters+pick n roll players he needs to run a GOAT level offense. With Pau, he not only gets a big who can PnR with him, but also a solid defensive player in the middle. Next to Theo (who made a few all defensive teams+led the league in blocks) they have enough defense+rebounding in the middle to let their high powered offense destroy other teams. Rice is a deadly shooter and will be getting wide open looks all day while Caron will offer a go to scoring threat when Nash is tired/off (which is rare). Matt Barnes is the ultimate hustle player that can be subbed in for defensive assignments/when the team wants to really get out and run. Thibs is the ideal coach for this team as Nash has proven it doesnt matter who the coach is (see Gentry), he just needs capable players to run high level offense. Thibs in the meantime will be creating defensive schemes that will lock down anything they see, as he is imo the smartest defensive coach in the league. its no coincidence wherever he goes a great defense follows.

pg: slater martin
sg: sasha vujacic
sf: vern mikkelsen
pf: rudy larusso
c: clyde lovellette
6th man: robert horry

coach: brad stevens

team with a championship pedigree and ton of experience getting the job done when it counts the most. lots of defensive tenacity with slater and vern being some of the best defensive players of their eras, and sasha known for being a hustling pest that will get after you. clyde and rudy provide major scoring punches down low, and big shot bob is one of the clutchest players ever to live and always steps up to make the play that needs to be made in crucial situations. this group allows stevens plenty of flexibility with lineups and playing styles as horry and vern can play both forward spots, rudy can be pf or c, and clyde with his outside shooting can go anywhere from sf to center. stevens' defensive, team oriented approach is an excellent compliment to this group that is above average defensively, willing to work hard and work together to win

Team Mirja

C George Mikan
F Spencer Haywood
F Rick Fox
G Derek Harper
G Gary Payton

6th Man Sam Perkins

Coach Rick Adelman

Where do i begin ? To tell the story of how .. ups wrong song. George Mikan was one of the first superstar in the NBA. No matter how you look at it, he once a dominant force in the NBA. Spencer Haywood is a modern PF type, can shot, can bang, can rebound, athletic, has decent court vision. Rick Fox, the ultimate glue player, he'll do everything in defense, & shoot 3pt in decent clip, not egoistical. Derek Harper, tough defensive guy, one of the most renowed perimeter defenders in 90's, he's like better version of Shump/Bradley, but can shot & dish dimes, but he's unselfish. Payton, a great defensive guard, also a superstar on offensive side. Perkins was one of the first shooting big, & he's not soft, not like today shooting big. Clutch in the crunch time.

With Rick Adelman coaching, i believe this team will be flourishing, Mikan & Spencer, both of them has great court vision, they will play in the post ala C-Webb/Divac/Brad Miller.. they can kill inside or kick out to open man. Rick Fox will be the 3&D guy like Doug Christie, Derek Harper can be 2nd ballhandler next to Payton, while can shot/creating when necessary. Rick Adelman can use point guard pretty good.. Terry Porter, BJ Armstrong, Jason Williams, Bibby, Brooks, Rubio etc etc all flourish in his tutelage, so theoritically Payton will be super fine playing with him. Sam Perkins will be fill in Odom role without the ball handling. This team will be exciting, believe me.

TEAM DAX

PG - Magic Johnson - 6'9 point guard with probably the best court vision of any player in NBA history. Flirted with a triple-double damn near every game. Great team player, made everyone better, clutch, off the charts bball IQ. The ultimate leader on the floor, the ultimate winner.

SG - Mitch Richmond - Arguably the 2nd best shooting guard of his era only behind some guy named Jordan. Richmond could score from anywhere on the floor and in so many ways. In transition, on the block, mid-range, 3-point, or at the free throw line. One of the strongest and most physical players at his position, never shied away from contact. Solid defender.

SF - Jerome Kersey - In his best statistical season, he averaged 19.2 points, 8.3 rebounds, 1.6 steals on a starting 5 that had Drexler, Porter, Williams, and Duckworth. The ultimate hustle/glue guy, he got his points off of offensive rebounds and transition baskets. Also had a decent mid-range jumper. Extremely hard worker. He was a good defender, rugged and physical style.

PF - Maurice Lucas - Led the Blazers in scoring, field goals, free throws, offensive rebounds, and minutes played in their championship season of 77'. Made all defense 1st & 2nd team in consecutive years. Nicknamed "The Enforcer"

C - Andrew Bynum - Probably hasn't even reached his prime yet, but so far at his best he is a force down low. He's got the size to be a physical presence on both ends of the floor. Nice post game, very good rebounder and shot blocker. Has the ability to dominate games. Shoots at a high percentage.

6th man - Aaron Mckie - Versatile player, in his prime could defend the 1,2,3 positions at an all-NBA caliber level. Tough minded, physical player. Could also play the point for stretches as well as the 3. Won 6th man of the year on a 76ers team that made the NBA finals.

Coach - Scott Brooks - Won a championship as a player, Coach of the year in 2010, won the Northwest division 3 straight seasons, .614 career win %

I feel my team is the most versatile, offensively balanced, physical team in this fantasy draft. We can matchup with anyone. On the other hand, having Magic at the point gives me the greatest advantage and poses a matchup nightmare for pretty much any team. Put your 6'3 point guard on him, he'll go down in the post and either score or find a teammate. Put your 2 guard on him and Richmond goes down on the block and dominates the point guard. Put a small forward on him and he'll find the mismatch. I also might have the best rebounding team 1-5. Imagine Magic grabbing a rebound and starting the fast break with Richmond and Kersey filling the wings. Kersey flourished in the transition game in Portland. Just imagine how good he would be finishing at the rim with Magic running the break. Don't forget Richmond was part of RUN TMC so he's no stranger to the up-tempo style. And if Bynum or Lucas grab the rebound, which they will grab a large amount, they just outlet and trail the break. If the game slows down, we can play that style as well. Bynum, Lucas, Magic, and Richmond can all post up and score or get to the line. Defensively, we will be extremely physical as we have size at every position. If teams want to go small, Mckie can come in and guard the point while Magic moves to the 3 or 4. There is a lot of versatility on the team as all players except Bynum can play multiple positions. As much as Brooks lets Russell Westbrook dominate the ball, it wouldn't be a problem with Magic at the helm. He can sit back and let Magic be the great floor general he is and orchestrate the offense. Brooks can handle the defensive adjustments and with the teams versatility I don't think it would be that hard. I think my team wins games by physically dominating the other teams on both ends of the floor. Also, the team has a good balance of great, star, and role players. Plus, my team pretty much consists of players from the modern era who are bigger, stronger, faster. I just don't think players from the 40's and 50's could match up. For example, Mikan would be considered a PF in the modern game. He averaged 40% fg as the biggest guy in the league! With Magic on my team, I don't see us losing many games. He is the greatest leader and winner out of all the players in this draft and has the ability to bring the team together and have each player play at their highest level.

PG: Nick Van Exel

One of the most exciting Laker guards in history. Really helped transition the franchise after Magic Johnson and kept the Lakers exciting. Knows how to get up and down. Best season: 2000-2001 -- 17.7 PPG, 8.5 APG

SG: Trevor Ariza

The glue guy to the 2009 Championship. During the season made highlight plays, athletic, defended, and come playoff time -- you could not leave him open. Best time: 2009 NBA Playoffs -- 23 GS, 11.3 PPG, 4.2 RPG, 1.6 SPG, 47% 3PT, 50% FG

SF: Jamaal Wilkes

Stu Lantz has an absolute hard-on for this man. The man with the "Silk" jump shot. His jersey was retired by the Lakers this season. Best season: 1980-1981 -- 22.6 PPG, 5.4 RPG, 1.5 SPG, 53% FG

PF: Happy Hairston

Needed a good physical 4 next to Kareem. Managed to snatch him up. One of the best players on the team that won 33 games in a row. Best Season: 1969-1970 -- After coming to the Lakers from Detroit, in his first 55 games with LAL, he averaged -- 20.6 PPG, 12.5 RPG, 49% FG, 80% FT

C: Kareem Abdul Jabbar

In the argument for the greatest player and Laker of all time. The NBA's current all time leading scorer and has the most unstoppable shot in NBA history. Best Season: 1971-1972 -- 34.8 PPG, 16.6 RPG, 4.6 APG, 57% FG

Sixth Man: Cliff Robinson

Don't get confused with the gangster Clifford Robinson. This Clifford Robinson was good. Best Season: 1982-1983 -- 18.0 PPG, 11.1 RPG

Head Coach: Mark Jackson

A great PG in his playing days, a master motivator. Inspiration. Ask his current players, they play their ass off for him. Led a young GSW team to the playoffs this season without one of their top players in David Lee.

--------------

Why TylersLakers?

My plan of attack going in once I got Kareem Abul Jabbar was surround him with another Laker jersey that's currently retired (Wilkes) and an exciting guard in the back court (Van Exel). Once those three positions were filled, I wanted roleplayers who could come in and be dogs defensively and do the intangibles (Hairston, Ariza). Kareem proved during the Showtime Days that he could fit in just fine with an up-tempo attack, and Van Exel knows how to push the pace and excite the crowd with Ariza on the wing. When in the half court, there's no better option than Kareem on the block, or a wide open Wilkes jumper. The answer is simple -- two Laker jerseys that are retired, two of the biggest fan favorites, with a member of the biggest win streak of all time mixed in. Add in Clifford Robinson's 17 PPG and 8 RPG career average and it's over.

Ron Harper
Gail Goodrich
Orlando Woolridge
Karl Malone
Elden Campbell

6th Man: Horace Grant

HC: Brian Shaw

Overall, I think my team is a good synthesis of the regular Karl Malone oriented offense with the triangle offense. Since Shaw has the knowledge of the triangle and Ron Harper played the point guard duties under Phil later in his prime, the team has portions of the triangle offense as an option. On top of that prime Harper + Woolridge are athletic players with the ability to run the court efficiently, which could be similar to Denver Nuggets of today, Shaw's current team. On top of that Goodrich is a great offensive option and a shooter who can space the floor, I envisioned a good pick and roll duo in him and Malone. As a result I've got a good variety of offensive sets to break down great defenses. I have a good competitor in Horace Grant who is also good with the triangle, I have to play Campbell at C due to the shortcomings of my team however this also provides a team with good capability to run the floor. In conclusion, I believe this is a solid team that can give trouble to every defensive strategy.

Sorry, busy last couple days.

C - Shaquille O'Neal
PF - Dennis Rodman
SF - Ron Artest
SG - Lou Hudson
PG - Charlie Scott
6th Man - Antawn Jamison
Coach - Rick Carlisle

This team is loaded both on offense and defense. Let's start off with the most vital piece to the team, and that is Shaq. Shaq was an incredibly dominant force in his prime. He would be the vocal point of our offense, and shut down the lane on defense. Dennis Rodman is a perfect player to have on a team loaded with such offensive fire power. He is a rare superstar that knew where he thrived, accepted that, and gave it his all in these areas every game. His defense and rebounding skills are unmatchable, and his knack of getting in opposing players heads was an area of his game that is often over looked. The final member of my starting front court is Ron Artest, an elite defender, a good scorer, and an effective three point shooter. Artest in his prime was a shut down defender, and is absolutely a crucial piece to this team to shut down the opposing team's best perimeter player. Antawn Jamison is a spark plug off the bench, who even won 6th Man of the Year award once, so he's clearly comfortable in that role. He would help create space in the lane for Shaq, since he is an excellent stretch four. This front court has everything I feel; and would hold an advantage over any front court.

For my back court, Lou Hudson is an elite shooter, which was really needed for this team. He was a 6 time Al-Star, averaged 27, 6, and 3 in his prime, and is an overall great guy and an excellent teammate. Charlie Scott has great size for a PG at 6’5”, was a 5 time All-Star, and had career averages of 21, 5, and 4. This backcourt has a good combination of scoring, play making, shooting, and size.

Rick Carlisle has been a winner everywhere he’s gone, and has led teams to thrive at the defensive side of the ball everywhere he’s been. His game plans and coaching led to the Mavericks upsetting the Heat in the Finals. Given this roster, I know he would be able to get it to reach its full potential and help mold this team into the best in the league.
