1 Year Ago Today

Post#1 » by Tiesto_Lakers » Sat Aug 10, 2013 1:20 pm

The Lakers acquired Dwight Howard which led to one of the most epic offseasons in NBA history. Never have I been so pumped about a team's chances of winning it all, and it ended up being the most disappointing season ever.

Big difference between last year's offseason and this year's.

I wasn't, because we traded a great big tandem and all our eggs were in Bynum's basket. We'd have basically had one season to make it work before his inevitable breaking down or departure...all this with Mike Brown as our head coach. Really don't see him being the right guy for CP3.

That's what I'm saying though, I wonder if we'd have have had trade pieces or the capspace to really surround Paul with anybody but Bynum and Kobe....I guess we could have traded Bynum for someone other than Dwight Howard......hm.....

One year ago today, I thought Dwight is a beast. Turns out he is only a baby.

Rumors were that Dwight would be coming next. So it would've been cp3 Kobe and dh12, not bad going forward.

I was more excited about the steve nash acquisition since the lakers didn't give up anything that would hurt them on the court in the upcoming season. getting dwight was cool but i was never really all that excited about it cause i was a big bynum homer and i was perfectly happy going into the season with bynum at center.

most exciting moves for me were 1. shaq signing, 2. malone/payton

Man stuff like this is exactly why over the past month I'm happy this clown is gone. What a loser!!!!

Everybody been pretty much saying the same thing on Twitter and social medias to Dwight and he lashes out at that woman. She had a nice comeback for his azz tho. Man he really must've been a headache in that locker room last season.

To be honest I was really pumped when we got Pau Gasol for Kwame Brown. Now that was epic.

I wasn't going nuts over it. Cause I knew the risk of dealing for him was going to bite us in the azz. And it did. But oh well it's over time to move on.

I don't think anything can top that day. Everyone knew we'd instantly become a title threat and stay that way for many years.

Yup, and that's when the whole entire league had to adjust to our moves. I was amazed at how worried the rest of the other teams were at that point.

I wonder which Yers were on our roster at the end of that season (before Hoawrd) and who is still here today... Is it only Kobe, Pau & Blake (before Nash & Howard pickups)... Allot of turnover...
