Final Depth Chart?

Is the roster finalized? Many people here thought the Lakers would go out and sign a pure PF, but that isn't looking like it will happen after the Elias Harris signing. I think people are also sleeping on Shawne Williams, who I think will make the team and crack the rotation. D'Antoni loves this guy as a floor spacer and a guy who can put the ball on the floor. Assuming Kobe is ready on Day 1, I think our depth chart goes:
G - Nash/Blake/Farmar
G - Bryant/Meeks
G - Johnson/Young
F - Hill/Williams/Harris
C - Gasol/Kaman
I like Young coming off the bench to provide scoring, he should be playing nearly 30 minutes a night. Doesn't look like Farmar will crack the rotation unless Meeks stinks badly or Nash/Blake get hurt.

I think Odom and Amundson are both in play. Also I doubt Wesley starts over nick and farmar could be our best pg.

With Kobe being doubtful for the opener, I envision a lot of combo guard play between Nash/Blake/Farmar

I only listed the Active roster. I don't think Kelly will make the active roster over Harris or Williams.

by what would jack bauer do?
With farmar's ballhandling, speed, and athleticism he's most likely going to get starters minutes. Plus farmar is our best defender at pg. Meeks probably won't crack the rotation unless its at sf.

Shawnee isn't signed plus Toung will start...Roster is as follows:
PG: Nash, Farmer & Blake
SG: Kobe, Blake & Meeks
SF: Young, Wesley & Kobe
PF: Hill, Harris & Kelly
C: Pau, Kaman & Sacre
I would still like to sign LO, Jamison or Johnson but sounds like we may be done... Lets to to work baby...

http://bleacherreport.com/articles/1746 ... es-johnsonalso why we should sign him, if we don't get Lou. Johnson is more of a Mike D guy

I also like James Johnson, the guy is strong and big and would be a good small-ball PF in D'Antoni's system.

Farmar better than Nash or Blake? I don't think so. He's quicker than both, but is also a poor decision maker and an average defender.
IMO, Farmar is our 3rd best PG and D'Antoni is a huge fan of both Steve's anyway. I'd like to see Farmar and Blake as the backup backcourt, but Meeks is a good shooter when confident. I'm wondering if we can trade Meeks for a backup PF...maybe Meeks to the Kings for Patrick Patterson.

I'm really hoping Nash can bring it this year and not look like a shell of himself, but it sounds like you didn't watch Farmar with the Nets. He's the only one of the three that can stay with quick guards and the west is jam packed with that type of player. White mamba had a good run last year and I hope he can recapture that again, but lets be honest about most of his tenure here.
Farmar shot .440 from 3 his last year with the nets and was the primary trigger man in Turkey. He is a Mike D player all the way, i would be shocked if he doesn't get burn.

... Nash will still be our starting PG (more of because he is MDA's favorite) and I see Farmar and Blake playing combo guards ... I think Farmar will be the primary back up for Nash while Blake will play the 2 spot most of the time ...

The forward positions are really weak, hill/young are playing out if position and Johnson/Kelly/Harris are scrubs (haven't totally given up on Johnson yet)

James Johnson hasn't been even rumored to be on our radar. I find that pretty bleak at this point in the summer.
