Thought about making the same thread as last year,to keep all discussions in here

It's more useful than seeing x amount of threads when the list is finished like "OMG,Kobe is not in the top 10 " or stuff like that

#25 Kobe Bryant
#29 Pau Gasol
#88 Steve Nash
#176 Chris Kaman
#228 Nick Young
#237 Jordan Hill
#253 Steve Blake
#276 Jodie Meeks
#305 Jordan Farmar
#336 Wes Johnson
#432 Robert Sacre
#451 Xavier Henry*
#460 Elias Harris*
#469 Darius Johnson Odom*
#477 Ryan Kelly*

*non guaranteed contracts

what's the point of them making a list now when they did one at the end of the RS last year?

just saying it's pretty ironic that espn contributors and writers somehow know who got better and worse during the offseason without anyone having played a real game. lol

It's a huge driver of traffic, I'm sure. Probably a lot of twitter activity too.

Kind of weird that they put Gasol above Garnett.

Is this true what I'm hearing? Kobe Bryant is ranked 25th Best player on this joke of an ESPN poll. Man I know Henry Abbott is enjoying this

Yup,Kobe at #25 and Gasol #29...will update the list and we're done as far as Lakers players are involved

Don't know what to say...if you consider the severity of the injury and the uncertainty of his return to an elite level(basically if you assume he's gonna fall off a cliff) then yeah,I can see an argument(maybe not 25 low,but not far)

If we're going based on his play when he WAS healthy and judging only on last season's play.....the ranking is a complete joke

I know ESPN has said the rankings are subjective and they only do them for the sheer amount of traffic they get on the website/twitter, but holy ****, this might be worse than anything Durins Baynes or those other clowns on the PC board could come up with.

The only thing missing is them asterisking Kobe's name and justifying his ranking due to the 2005 team he had being "very solid."

it's a ranking based on how many games and how well they think he'll recovery from his injury this coming year. Not a ranking based on his performance last year. They did that at the end of last year and they ranked him 4th.

Yet, Russell Westbrook who has no timeline is ranked higher and what about Derrick Rose's ranking last year?

One of the main reason I don't watch ESPN, the thing is I'm not even upset by it I expected this to happen but the reasoning behind it is illogical.

i think rose not playing last year is one of the reasons why kobe got ranked so low this time around. As far as Russell goes i'm pretty sure the news of him being out six weeks came after the votes were already in for the rankings.

Show them again Kobe. I really hopes he doesnt even respond to this. Let team success and his production do the talking on both ends of the court
