Time Warner Cable SportsNet has expanded its on-air Lakers broadcast team to include Byron Scott and Luke Walton.
Scott won three NBA titles with the Lakers in the mid-1980s. Walton has two rings from the Lakers' 2009 and 2010 championships.
"The addition of Byron Scott and Luke Walton to our on-air team allows Time Warner Cable SportsNet to give fans incredible perspective on the Los Angeles Lakers. Byron is an experienced and respected NBA veteran and Luke is fresh off of an accomplished NBA career," said Larry Meyers, vice president, content and executive producer, Time Warner Cable Sports Regional Networks. "We have worked hard to assemble an extremely experienced and relevant team of Lakers analysts as we head into our second season of Lakers basketball on Time Warner Cable SportsNet."
Scott and Walton will join James Worthy and Robert Horry, giving the team a combined 15 NBA championships on set.
LA TimesExcited to see Luke there, I wouldn't mind him joining the coaching team soon.

Years from now I'm going to tell kids I watched Luke Walton play basketball in a Lakers uniform and won Championship rings.
My son would reply, "You mean the old white guy talking during the game actually played?"

This summer. H played last season out, played well, and I remember him saying he was happy to be able to go out and perform as his body wasnt allowing that in years past. Think that gave him a level of contentment and he was able to hand em up, so he doesn't end up old and in severe pain like his dad

I was surprised as well, but he has been having a lot of back problems similar to his dad.

Cavs fan here.
Props to Luke for being a good guy and a great influence both on and off the court for a young Cavs team. Never really paid attention to him before his time in Cleveland, but for an old, non-athlete type of player he played smart and hard when he could have mailed it in.

yep, Luke has always been very professional and if he had kept a consistent 3 point shot like the one that got him his big contract, he would have been a very good role player for a long time, health permitting.
