NBA League Pass worth it?

I don't have Foxtel or any paid TV and I don't plan on getting any as I don't watch much TV. I only watch movies and play the PS3.

I'm in Sydney Australia and only have WIFI modem to which I can use on laptop and Ps3/TV
I could go to the sports club to watch the games, but most of the time they are being played during the day here and I work during the day:(

I looked on NBA com ... and they have NBA League pass for $30 a month and I'm considering getting it.
Just wondering if it's worth it or if you know of any other way of watching Games Via Net?

Can't wait for this season to start already

Cheers

You can stream the games for free online but they arent as realiable as league pass. For $30 its a good deal in my opinion. The quality wont be great on nba.com but its better than free streams.

As someone who has paid for LP in the past id definitely say its worth it.

get it, NBA league pass is more convenient because you can watch the games at your leisure. so even if you miss the game because you are at work or sleeping you can always watch the game from the archives.

I've heard some bad things like them charging your credit card for auto renewals and stuff, so be aware of that. I had it couple of seasons ago and loved it at that time but since then they changed the interfaces and screwed up the quality of the stream.

Yeh a lot of places who have forums such as dating sites and others will have things on 'Auto renew'

I'm smart enough to realise that and will only pay for it while the NBA is on...

They also have annual fee of $300 and I thought F-that I'll just go monthly and be able to miss it.
totally miss the free to air NBA. I mean we get NFL games and such but not NBA - pisses me off

I remember when I was younger staying up on Thursday and Friday nights till 12-1 at night just to watch games and NBA action < loved NBA action back in the day

Edited: ill try it for a month see how I go

I didn't. My advice was just general advice. Read the rules well before you confirm anything, because like someone mentioned before they are known to bill you rather quickly for the following year,

I had it last year as a Laker fan living in Colorado. It's great for watching your team away from home but isn't as good for the high profile times like the Lakers. You wont have the local blackout issue but all nationally televised games (espn, tnt, nbatv, etc..) are blacked out as well. Since it's the Lakers who play 100 national TV games a year, a ton of their games are blacked out. Obviously if you have cable its not a problem but you said you don't (I didn't either when I bought it last year). Also they get voted into nearly every NBA TV Tuesday night fan vote game so whenever they play on Tuesdays you'll more than likely be screwed there too. But the quality of streams is great and all games save in an archive so you can watch whenever. If you are a Bucks or a Pistons fan you'll get to watch every game with your subscription but be ready for half or more of the Laker games to be blacked out due to national TV. Hope this helps.

Mate I'm from Aus too and this will be my 4th year in a row of subscribing to League Pass. It rocks for catching up on games although it can be (read: often is) very annoying with the game breaks (back in the day they used to fill timeouts with US ads which was awesome, then it was just a black screen saying game break and now it's replays of playoff moments which are good the first 50 time.. not so much afterwards).
Tip though, pay for it through an Indian Proxy (google ozbargain + league pass for instructions) and it'll be far cheaper than how much we get burnt for it.
Do it man, league pass is great.

I had it last year, and I only got about 15% of the Laker's games here in Canada, and 0% of Raptor games. What was nice about it was I could watch any game after it was over, which when I work evenings meant I could watch a whole game in like 45 minutes. That part was sweet.

Their site is glitchy as all hell though.

Over at the Raptors board, we have a good thread on League pass. Seems like a lot of people are enjoying something called Ballstreams.com. Some are saying it's better than league pass.

there is also the 150usd option where you can select 5 teams to get ever game. I had it last year and it was fine, I streamed to my ps3. Live games stuttered sometimes, but you also get the archive which I believe you don't if you get the normal tv pass. Either way, it's like 2 dollars per game so I think it's worth it. Blacked out games you can also watch after the broadcast with the archive.
