Inferiority complex about being the only tenants who have no championship (if you include the Kings who they also covered up)? Its just weird and looks trashy IMO.

Do you think its time for them to fine their own home or actually win? Do you think this was a Doc move as those titles have always been displayed for the other 3 occupants of staples?

Seems tacky after 12 years of playing with them all on display. It goes back to talk radio, namely Max and Marcellus laughing at the idea of them ever displaying that pacific division title they won in staples. It was a conversation when they won the pacific last year and Max said there's no way they would ever display it because it looks so out of place with the Lakers, Sparks, and Kings championship banners hanging.

There's also the timing of doing this after you get Doc as coach who got beat for one of those banners. Its just weird after over a decade and to do it randomly seems tacky or screams an inferiority complex because of he four franchises that occupy the space they are the least prestigious

Clippers being the Clippers man....there's a reason their franchise was mocked over and over again during the years and not only by fans,but in the media and other circles

You can't change the mentality of decades of misery and defeat just like that....even with a few winning seasons

Would need to be a local city. No way Sterling would keep his team from being aired anywhere but in the LA market. Too bad none of them are willing to pay extra tax money for them.

This situation is why I always thought they should go to Anaheim and make a name for themselves while staying in the LA market. Their own house, no shadows, no expectations, eh, just me.

Edit: This will be the talk of the town today in LA. Especially since the Dodgers lost. It was a bad idea from the beginning to have both teams in Staples to begin with. Especially after the CP3 era began. Even though we've built that arena with rings. I wouldn't even mind if we shook that arena now and built another one somewhere else. Thats beyond disrespectful

To be honest, they should've done this a long time ago.

No way in hell should they cover up our hard work. When we were winning championships, they were winning the lottery and going no where.The Lakers worked hard to get those banners, and they want to cover them up. I say kick there sorry asses out and never try to hide the history of greatness we have worked hard for.

Not a big deal it's only for 42 nights out of the 365 every year.

Love how the banners are still shown during all the award shows. Including the Grammy's. The Gold standard.

Smart move and how many times have you guys ever went to a Clipper home game with your Clipper loving buddies (or family in my case) and pointed to the Laker banners and said yeah bitch! Can't do it anymore. LoLoLoL!

Yeah both teams share the building, well hell actually 4 teams share the building.

Do you see the Lakers covering the Kings Division and Championship banner ?

Do you see the Lakers covering the Sparks 2 championship banners ?

I'm gonna say what some probably won't, the Clippers and their fanbase is probably the most insecure sports franchise I've ever saw.

Not mad at this and most will probably try to say Laker fans will be, but this is funny and shows the low level of confidence they have about playing in that building.
