LAKERS 14/15... possible scenario?

Post#1 » by lelelazza8 » Wed Dec 18, 2013 1:12 pm

Is it possible LAL use the stretch provision on Nash contract? In that way LA have cap space for 33 milion...
I don't think Lebron and/or Melo go to Los Angeles to play for Kobe...

...So...

I'd like to see in purple and gold this team next year

PG: M.Chalmers/Farmar/Nash
SG: Kobe/B.Rush
SF: Ariza/W.Johnson
PF: P.Patterson/D.Cunningham
C: Monroe/J.Hill/Sacre

+ 2014 1st round pick

Is it a possible team? Can be a good team?

i actually like Farmar's game better than Chalmer's tbh and I'm not a big fan of resigning Ariza. I think the best play for us is to save our cap space for 2015 when Kevin Love is a Free Agent.

Mario Chalmers is the worst starting pg in the NBA. He needs to be 2nd or 3rd string. He contributes nothing spectacular besides the long-ball. He benefits from the system. If the Lakers use any cap money on Chalmers I'll be disappointed. The lakers can find a vet min guy to play the same role.

I'd love Monroe. I don't think he's going anywhere though. I think he and Drummond have something special in the making, assuming one of their young guards can emerge too.

Yes, we could use the stretch provision on Nash.
No, it doesn't make sense to do that if you're not even sure he can play anymore.
No, Chalmers is not a good starting PG.
No, that team wouldn't be anything special in the West.

And bottom line, there are probably hundreds of possible 2014/15 scenarios. There are way too many variables out there for us to have a clear picture yet of what should be done. Kobe's extension was one piece of the puzzle, the Feb14 trade deadline and whether or not Pau is still on the team is the next piece that we need to see before we can start identifying FA targets.
And, we should keep them in the Free Agent thread.
