Lots of tanks to...
The following players have a special place in my heart for doing a great job of leading us to a solid draft position.
Kobe Bean Bryant- You came back as fast as you could and in the nick of time to derail a team that was a game above 500. Great Job Kobe! I think you may be able to time off now but stay warm just in case we win a game or two.
Tank You
Steve Nash- In the few games you played your defense or lack of was exactly what was needed and your 3pt % was impressive. Please hurry back we could use legs down the stretch.
Tank you
Steve Blake- although I'm not thrilled with your great play to start the year and hitting that game winner vs the Rockets. I am glad that you were able to take your usual time off. Please do not hurry back and if you do make an attempt to return to your former self and make Max proud.
Tank You
MDA- Lifetime achievement award-
So many Tanks...
Shuffling the starting lineup to not get any type of consistency(Brilliant)
Playing Kobe 48 mins down the stretch last year(visionary)
Building the offense around Steve Nash.. Perfect
Not letting Pau play inside and kill his self esteem(high five)
Starting and playing Shawn Williams so much and encouraging him to keep shooting those 3's(Masterful)
Sitting Kamen for apparently no reason (Legendary)
Tank You very much!!!

Yeah, I honestly think this team easily would have made the 7th or 8th seed if everyone was healthy and Kaman wasn't in the dog house. I would much rather tank and start over this offseason...Blake's play was definitely fun to watch because we trolled some great teams but it was only a matter of time before he got hurt. Dude is now sitting on the bench with a cast half the size of his body. Your comments on MDA are spot-on...how does Shawne Williams go from starting to being waived? That's the blueprint for tanking. MDA had a hard-on for Williams since his NYK days for some reason....also, you forgot to mention MDA benching Hill for so many games...good things happen when Hill plays a lot of minutes.
I hope we keep staying in games though because blowouts are never fun to watch. I like when we hoist up threes and troll the other teams...their commentators get so mad.

You can tank all you want but that doesn't mean we will get a great draft pick. This is why I am against tanking. Remember the Bostons Celtics the year Tim Duncan declared for the draft. Didn't work out of for them did it. Cleveland is the last team I remember tanking and getting the player they hoped for in 2003. I'm not liking our odds when we still have a handful of teams who will have more ping pong balls than us.

No one said tanking will turn the organization around, but it's definitely a much better option than getting the 8th seed and getting crushed in the 1st round. Also, tanking and getting the 11th or 12th seed is much better than getting the 9th seed since nothing was lost.
At this point, you do what's best for the organization in the long run, because we have no one who can turn us into contenders overnight.

Well, they drafted Billups, who wasn't too shabby of a player (2004 Finals MVP). It's their fault they traded him for peanuts.
The tank helped them. They just didn't know it.

I'm sure you guys know the difference between tanking and flat out sucking. So with that being said, how are we tanking? Stop posting threads like this since it spreads like wildfire on every board about this team and franchise intentionally tanking WHICH WE NEVER HAVE DONE THAT. We have been hit with A LOT of injuries and a coach that sucks balls. F.O built this team with hopes of 2014. It doesn't mean we are tanking.
Teams like Nets Knicks etc are tanking. They have the talent necessary to win but they're not. Its easy to see who is tanking and who's not. We're not.

God I cannot imagine what kind of crap this fanbase would spout out if we really were depressing as a franchise. Kobe de-railed our season? I mean WTF!

Both the Knicks and the Nets have all the incentive in the world to pick up wins or at least stay above 500. Also both teams have pieces to trade one or two players that improves their chances in the short term.
They have a lot of pieces that can still give them a run for the playoffs but everybody can see they are clearly throwing games.

The Nets and Knicks are also in the East----where teams are basically trying to miss the playoffs.

Even though I'm rooting for a losing season, that game against Houston where Blake made the 3 to win was freakin awesome. I sure as he'll wouldn't take that game back.
Anyways carry on

Re: Lots of tanks to...
We are not tanking. That would imply that from the beginning of the season we would have the aspirations to lose every game. As you have see the team play this is the opposite. The team has played hard and due to injuries we have fallen below 500.
I think we picked a great year to suck.

Even though maybe we cant get top 5 in 2014 draft, its still pretty stacked class, if we can get top 15 or even 10, we're good to go. I believe in Mitch as talent evaluator.

You realize many claim the Spurs embraced the tank to get Duncan, right?

I don't give a s**t anymore. We are the Lakers. I am not embracing the tank. I'm rooting for them to win as we all should. My bad for commenting in this thread. I hate tanking and will continue to be negative about it. I am taking my a** out of this thread. I am sorry you have to witness this Dr. Buss. I hope you are watching something else up in Heaven.

How are the Nets or Knicks tanking? Neither team owns their own pick, so you think they are losing on purpose just so Denver will get a top prospect?

Re: Lots of tanks to...
We're not intentionally tanking because the guys are playing hard but we have just been massacred by injuries this year-not their fault. And that's fine, as long as they're competing out there and trying to improve, that's all you can ask for. Some of these dudes are being groomed to be key role players when we reload in 2014+ and they'll need minutes this year to prep them for those roles. And I could go on and on about our 2014 lotto pick, but I'll leave that for the NCAA sticky.
