i see deep has also accepted the tank

at the way embiid is playing, we can only hope parker or wiggins lift their game to muddie the consensus #1 draft pick.

at least just enough we might be able to convince one of the teams picking top 3 to trade down

Nah I haven't accepted the tank nature here.....cause the reality is we won't get either one. As it stands we're sitting tied for the 5th lotto slot with the Cavs.

actually, we're tied 6th worst w/ cleveland after milwaukee, orlando, utah, philly, boston...

but i can see us out-tanking boston, utah and philly

we lose this game against boston, then we move into outright 5th worst record

Celtic fan here with admittedly a real dislike -- albeit usually with a good deal of respect for their management -- and paranoia about the Lakers. Even if the Lakers finish with the 8th or 9th worst record and relatively long lotttery odds, I'm paranoid they will somehow get a top 3 pick.

But tomorrow night for the first time in my life, I will truly be rooting very hard for the Lakers to win against the Celtics. I figure the Lakers players are hungry for a win right now.

Should be a good game. I do hope Kobe/Nash etc. returns fairly soon and play very well so the Lakers can get 30+ wins. And I hope the Lakers sign Carmelo this off season. That should tell you what I think of Carmelo going forward.

Other then catching Milwaukee, I seriously think the Celtics and Lakers are both capable of competing for the second worst record if their gm's are active enough sellers and with coming up with marginal injuries. Lakers have the advantage of being in the tougher WC while the Celtics play in the pathetic EC. But it will take commitment since I think Philly is prepared to take additional steps to tank.

I'm sorry do you not think we'll be getting Kobe and everyone else injured back?

I heard Boston is going to try to mess up the PH balance in our tank by trading Rondo for Pau...

A veritable Tank double-whammy... Destroying the Lakers tank by turbo-charging your own.

Embrace your tank Boston... Embrace it.

I think Pau Gasol deserves to retire with the Lakers with a nice big contract. 3 years at 12 million a year sounds good for him.

I've been embracing the Celtics halfhearted tank that has been gaining some momentum recently and hopefully goes into overdrive soon by trading away at least Bass and Humphries(actuallly playing very well this year).

And if the deals make sense Boston should be willing to trade away Green and even Rondo. But for Rondo, the Celtics will want to at least get a few first round picks that have a chance to be decent. I wouldn't mind the first round picks being from a team like the Wolves if that is possible -- the Wolves could use an upgrade of Rubio -- so the Celtics have some leverage over them if a player like Love goes on sale next year.

A few first round picks for a 28 year old coming off an ACL tear, with only 1 more year of team control? Wake up brother, the dream will never be reality.

Its as simple as this, if we make a play for Melo this summer then get Embiid. If we decide to wait till we can sign K-Love then give me Wiggins. If we get to choose between the 2 players I'm fine with either lol

How about getting Melo and Wiggins. Put Wiggins at 3, Melo at 4?
If we do this, do we still have enough money to sign Bledsoe?
Bledsoe/Kobe/Wiggins/Melo/Center - dream offseason for me.

no way possible unless Melo takes a super pay cut. And if he were to take a paycut to about 15mill (doubt it) I'm pretty sure the team would leave as much money available to offer K-Love the following offseason. Even with the knee injuries I'm pretty sure Bledsoe will get paid

Man, I really wish Nash would just retire so we can give that money to Bledsoe. I believe that if he retire due to medical condition, he will still get fully paid. Right? Win win situation.

Bledsoe is probably going to get the max by Phoenix.

Return to Los Angeles Lakers
