jordan hill question

On Friday he started but only played 11 minutes, anyone know why? He didn't get into foul trouble and I would assume with the thin Laker frontcourt rotation he'd be given a chance at more minutes.

D'Antoni hates him.....or we could be tanking, who knows?

If MDA really hated him, why start him in the first place? Just seems so odd.

2nd option it is then  ....we don't even care anymore,at the start of the season we'd be all over D'Antoni's ass over stuff like this but 90% off the board gave up and are on the tank wagon right now

This sums it up:

Mike Trudell ‏@LakersReporter 51m

D'Antoni on starting Ryan Kelly at PF: "At the end of the day we think we're better off with a stretch four."

He can't shoot threes.

So D'Antoni doesn't play him.

Because Hill was playing well...so D'Antoni had no choice but to play him.

Now, whenever Hill makes a mistake, D'Antoni parks him on the bench.

That's the exact reason I'm in the trade Hill camp, because he's leaving in the off-season. If you can get something for him it would be the best thing, he's going to cost too much and if D'Antoni is still coach next season he certainly won't be here.

I wonder how awkward it is whenever Hill or Kaman are alone in a room with D'Antoni. Both dudes probably despise the guy.

With this losing record MDA should at least start Hill and play him enough to create a trade demand, if he plays well maybe we can squeeze a lower 1st round pick at least.

Antoni likes his stretch four so until JHill gets a consistant jumper, he's going to be splitting time with Pau, Sacre and Kaman. There just aren't enough minutes to go around. That I think he just has something against the guy.

Jordan Hill and Chris Kaman would net us 2 1st round pick if Mitch really wanted it. You know, desperate pre/contenders

I heard SAS propose a trade of Hill, Gasol, and a future first (not this years) for Melo. At this point I don't think we have anything to lose by doing such a trade. I know everyone will freak and say look at the cap issue this causes us the next few years. You have a point. But maybe....just maybe we can get Melo to take less. He may do it for Kobe and to be apart of a winning franchise. Get him this year. See how he works in MDA's system. If all else fails we could let him walk similar to Dwight lol. Hopefully that is not the situation. But at this point I guess I argue why not? we have nothing else going for us lol. Gasol and Hill will likely not be here next year. Who cares if Melo is lol

there's always firing Antoni option and that could favor Hill to return....I dont see Pringles lasting, he does this crap to almost every player if they irk him in anyway.

IF doesn't work we would've lost another 1st rd pick, great and its not as if we have any 1st pick to trade in the near future anyways. Last I heard the next 1st rd pick we could trade is like 2017 or 2018 or something like that.

It's really easy. Kaman and Hill aren't getting minutes because of D'Antoni's style of play and the fact that the Lakers are trying to showcase Pau.

D'Antoni has no problem benching Pau or cutting his minutes, when he was under pressure to win games - see last year.

If Pau is traded by the deadline, then suddenly Kaman and Hill might see major minutes again.

Also, don't forget that both Kaman and Hill are free agents this summer. The front office is most likely lowering their market value by limiting their PT.
