Kaman Tracker

He got another DNP-Coaches Decision yesterday...
So far, he's played in 23 games this season... That's only 1 more than Farmar and less than Sacre.
He's averaging 16.7 mpg... For reference, Kelly is averaging 15.9 in 19 games.
We hear he's hurt, then we hear he's not...
To me, he's looked pretty good when he can get on the floor.
Pau gets a lot of credit for being a 'Consummate Professional' for accepting the role that's given him... If Pau's a Professional, I'm starting to wonder if Kaman is a saint.
So what's the deal? Is it just that MDA hates him? Is he injured? In bad Shape? Or what?
I have this sinking feeling in my stomach that after the dust clears from the trade deadline, Pau will still be a Laker, but Kaman will be gone and in his place will be like a late 2nd pick or something... Marking the extent of our 'Moves.'
Thoughts?

Kaman is better than Sacre, offensively and defensively..he should be getting more PT

Antoni is just a terrible coach who likes to put players in his dog house for whatever random reasons. He did it to Hill during his NYK tenure and well as earlier last season when Antoni took over for the other potatoe head. If we didn't have big man injuries last year, Hill probably would've never seen the light of day again getting of the bench.

I've been impressed with Kaman all year..he looks like the same guy who made the AS team as a Clipper...the guy has smooth moves in the post and isn't a bad rebounder/defender.
I have no clue as to why Sacre plays more than him. Sacre doesnt' do much other than hit the odd 10 footer.

I think Sacre is better at PnR offense as he sets solid screens and rolls to the basket. where as Kaman just settles way to much for jump shots. Also I'm guessing Sacre plays better D or something in Antoni eyes but who really knows whats in that crazy mustache face of his, Kelly is in the starting lineup now

They don't want him getting hurt before they deal him.

Another DNP... In an overtime game no less... I wonder if he's read any good books lately?

I am as puzzled as you as to why Kaman is not playing more.
If the intent is to play your best players and win games, I don't know how you play Sacre over Kaman.
Kaman is not a bad defender and is a much better offensive player. He can shoot the 15-17 footer which fits MDA's system.
I acknowledge that it has been an injury riddled season but this makes no sense to me.
MDA either hates Kaman, or doesn't want to put the best line-up out there, or both

I don't mind
If keeping Kaman out makes the team worse and helps lose more games, I'm all for it. #EmbraceTheTank

Ah I see what's going on in here.
Title: "Kaman Tracker" as in we're tracking the position of the draft pick that we'll acquire for Caveman by the trade deadline. Clever.

More evidence of the tank being real

It's a sarcastic title in that we all know where he is at all times...
But I also think it's one of the more intriguing stories this season.

Yep, and Jamison last year.

Having been a PG, maybe he just hates Bigs? Inferiority complex?

DNPs against NYK and Indy... Guess it was a bad matchup for him.

One Idea struck me... Someone asked, "Why sign Kaman, if you knew MDA wasn't going to do the twin towers thing with he and Pau?"
I'm starting to think we signed Kaman because nobody believed Pau would still be on the team and we wanted to be prepared with a Solid C replacement. It's just taken us longer to trade Pau than we anticipated.

But it goes against Kamans intro press conference which says he and Pau were going to start

It should have been obvious by then that Pau wasn't a stretch 4... So I never really thought that made sense.
It may have been what they told Kaman to get him to sign, or it may have been a temporary idea floated by Mitch and Jim about how to utilize them both until Pau was moved... But it didn't ever seem like a working concept.
