Jeanie Buss disappointed, but remains confident in F.O.

http://www.ocregister.com/articles/buss-598794-lakers-team.html

“I have been assured by the front office that they are doing everything they can to make our team better, to do whatever they can to get the team back to winning,” Buss said in a telephone interview. “So I have confidence.”

“I think I’ve made it clear the structure that Dr. Buss put into place and that is my brother Jimmy would be in charge of all basketball discussions and Mitch reports to Jim,” she said.

“I have faith they will do what it takes to get the Lakers back on top.”

Buss said her relationship with her brother has improved since the updated version of her “Laker Girl” autobiography came out last September. She said in the memoir that she felt betrayed and “got played” when D’Antoni was hired instead of Jackson. Back then, she called it an unsettling experience for both she and her fiance.

“I think my brother got an understanding about the way I felt about things,” Buss said. “I appreciated that. I think the book made us closer than what we were before. So I think we’re in a good place.”

I still think the front office is on notice officially starting this off-season.

1) With the Kobe contract, can we get still get another prime free agent and field a competitive team alongside of them?

2) Do we keep Dantoni? (I hope not)

3) Does Phil Jackson finally get brought into the front office in some capacity?

4) Do we get a low enough lottery pick and get a future franchise impact player? Or do we trade our pick in some type of package for a disgruntled PF in Minny?

5) Pau Gasol era with the Lakers over?

They did make the CP3, Nash and DH12 moves so its not like they haven't been willing to spend money and make big name moves.

Thoughts fellas?

Also good to hear that Jeanie and Jim both are on good terms again. This franchise needs both faces of the Buss family to be on the same page and communicate. I can't say how much but the F.O. being a mess these past couple of seasons impacted the team in negative way.

Jesus, the book made them closer? Can't they talk directly like normal families do?

We still have problems on our hands  . I just hope SOMETHING POSITIVE happens in the off-season. At least we could get Kobe back soon to make things interesting. would be nice if Nash returned for a game as well.

Phil will never get a FO job with us as long as Jim is running the show. Phil's best chance was when Jerry was still here and when he was still coaching the team.

I really hope Jim has a "come to jesus" moment where he realizes that he has no idea how to run a basketball team and that it would benefit him tremendously to get basketball minds working for him that would make him look ten times smarter than he is.

That right there is a run on sentence filled with anger.

I wonder what value Swaggy, Hill, and Wes Johnson all have. I am at the point where I hope I don't see anyone next season on this team not named Kobe  . Maybe Farmar, blake, and J.Hill. But everyone else it was great seeing you play hard but the memory of scrubs starting for the LOS ANGELES LAKERS is too hard to remember/watch.

Pau. We had a great run. Time for us to move on.

Correction R. Kelley can stay because I love "I believe I can fly".

I think you know what that means, anywho I'd say they are already on the burner. Not that it means anything.

So you think Jim might fire Mitch? What else could it mean?

And that's another reason why it's never gonna happen. Just like what Magic said, Jim has this feeling that he needs to step out of his father's shadow, that "he can do it on it's own".

Yup. We are doomed  . At least I hope not. I'll give him a chance. Have no choice.
