Kaman on potential trade: 'I don't care'

http://espn.go.com/blog/los-angeles/lakers/post/_/id/38817/kaman-on-potential-trade-i-dont-care?ex_cid=espnapi_publicKaman was signed in the offseason to a one-year, $3.2 million deal but has played sparingly under coach Mike D'Antoni. The coach prefers to play with only one post player on the court at any given time, limiting the opportunity for a back-to-the-basket center like Kaman, especially when Pau Gasol is healthy. Gasol remained in L.A. during the trip to rehab his injured groin.
Even with Friday's 112-98 victory over the Philadelphia 76ers giving L.A. a two-game winning streak, the Lakers are still just 18-32 overall and 11 games out of a playoff spot in the ultra-competitive Western Conference.
Should management decide that making a postseason push is not feasible, Kaman could certainly be shopped for a future draft pick as the team would certainly like to shed the approximately $8 million in salary it would need to drop to get under the luxury tax.
And any free agent will want to sign here with Dantoni still coaching us? This coach has been playing mental games with Kaman and Jordan Hill all season long. No notable free agents will want to sign here with this guy at the helm. Unless we want to continue to fill our roster with D-leaguers and vet minimum guys who will love to play in this guys offense because it allows them to inflate their stats for future contracts. This cant be sugarcoated even with the injuries and his preference to play a stretch 4 this coach philosophy/scheme seems to be on a different page than the F.O. was this past offseason. Why give Kaman that contract this previous offseason if you didnt envision him playing rotational minutes becasue he doesnt fit your coaching style? He'll be traded because we for d*mn sure know he's not resigning and it can help us get closer to getting under the luxury tax. And what a waste Kaman as a backup Center on your roster for the mini MLE was a bargain

Yea I feel bad for the guy. I went thru his twitter yesterday and it looked like he was very excited and happy when he signed with us.
He probably thought signing with us would be his career reviver. Too bad for some reason he couldn't get consistent PT.

He'll end up with a team and a coach that actually knows how to use BIG MEN... like the Spurs or Bulls

The guy is on IDGAF mode right now lol.
I remember early in the season when he started getting DNP's, I thought he really took it well and was very professional about it. He even had some praises for D'antoni too actually.

Can you blame him. I have a feeling though once he leave LA he's going to drop all the dirt that went down between him and MDA. Why him and MDA didn't get along etc.
Funny thing about all this is Jim Buss said before Kaman came here. "He needs us just as much as we need him and this is going to give him a great opportunity to play with another seven footer"
LMAOOOO................ Ya you were right Jimmy. 3.2 mil to lay down on your bench.

As a competitor is only so log a established player like Kaman will wonder "WTH is Sacre getting more minutes than me for?" He thought he was coming to be a solid rotational player and there's nothing in his play that warranted him falling out of the rotation like that smh...

Err.. did you guys read the complete article and his quotes? He said getting traded is not his wish but the business perspective can make it possible and if that happens he is willing to play along. I don't think he wants to get traded, his family is based in LA and that's one of the reasons he signed with us in the first place, he'd preferably want to stay in LA.

Ditto... Pau and MDA need to go! Keep Kaman, Hill, and Sacre... although if the Lakers manage to draft Embiid I might not resign Kaman.

I know he doesnt want to be traded, but there is obviously some frictions or issues between him and MDA. All Im saying is Jim had high expectations from him. Seeing how he's not getting any minutes logicaly Jim is not going to resign him again and let him walk.

Come on Slava this has "I don't want to play for Dantoni" written all over it. The guy practically laid out on the bench DURING A GAME. He's checkout mentally right now. This isnt want he expected coming into the season. Remember Jamison and is issues last year with this same coach? He will not resign as long as Dantoni is here. I personally couldnt watch another season with this clown at the helm

yea his response to trade rumors were politically correct and likely not indicative of how he truly feels. dudes a pro, hes not gonna be burning bridges and biting hands, its not his modus operandi.
But believe you me, he wants out - no playing time with a short roster on a lottery team - its obvious.

Kobe on the Cleveland game: "Kaman goes to sleep on the bench ... It's like when big brother is not around stuff starts going crazy"
Kendall Marshall sums up the Chris Kaman teammate experience: "Chris is cool as hell. He's an a--hole, but we love him"
