Pau takes shots at teammates and Mike Dantoni

Post#1 » by leeprettyp » Wed Feb 26, 2014 5:23 am

I dont blame Pau 1 bit for these comments he made at the end of the game. This is the downside of a trash season, bad coach with no offensive structure but its ok for EVERYBODY to chuck 3's and doesn't care about defense. Then the Front office had to know that signing a roster full of 1 year contracts and to keep bringing in D-leaguers had a strong chance to backfire. Seems everybody is trying to "GET THERE'S" so they can land another contract next season somewhere.

I also like to add... Since Nash HAD TO PLAY his 10th game and ruin the opportunity of the medical exception this season because he hints he wants to play next season (and believe me I'm rooting for him)... He HASN'T played another game since smh!!!

I have no problem with Pau's statements. Agree with everything he is saying. At this point it would be best to rest him and have him sit out the year. Their is nothing to play for at this point. Season is over.

Well unless its a coaching change to a coach that preaches inside/outside basketball and Pau is still willing to take a significant paycut he's gone anyway this summer. We couldn't get any assets for Pau on his way out the door? I still find that hard to believe

Can you honestly blame him though? He has been in trade rumors for years and he has a coach who wants him to stand around and watch others shoot threes lol. I think our FO were scared to add any salary. They must have a plan. At least let's hope they do. Scary thing....seems like we will keep MDA one more year unless he resigns (he would do so if Nash retired). So let's hope MDA has had enough coaching and quits in the off-season (unlikely). I hope the Lakers brass don't "feel for him".

well what do you expect when you get two players that are offensive minded for a PG at the trade deadline. YOu have a bunch of guys here trying to inflate their stats to stay in the league. It's just a product that is the unfortu nate result of what management has to do in a rebuilding season. Let's be honest here, Mike D'Antoni has either been told or knows that management wants him to give Brooks and Bazemore playing time to see if they are worth keeping next season.

Hot air, happens with losses piling up, Pau hasn't been used to losing this badly for a while.

This is a fantastic development, IMHO. This is the quickest way to ensure that D'Antoni does not return next season. Here's how it goes:

Kobe will lobby for management to keep Pau. Kobe will try to persuade Pau to stay. Pau will reiterate to Kobe and Mitch that he does not want to play for Mike D'Antoni. Lakers will then fire D'Antoni, hire George Karl and Pau will re-sign.

The Lakers must realize that D'Antoni will cost them Dwight Howard, Pau Gasol and Jordan Hill. Big men do not enjoy playing for him, and this is a franchise that has always prided itself on having the best big man in the game.

Its hard for champions to play with scrubs and be coached by scrubs. +1 for pau
Its also a bit easy for them to start lashing out no that the trade deadline is over and they know they cant be traded therefore, they feel they can say anything they want. -1 for pau

Can't wait for MDA's response "Ball has to find energy right now the ball's energy is slow. We have to play faster. As Ricky Bobby would say if you aren't first your last. Ball find energy". :x

Neither of which would be an overly significant development at this point.

come on, dont need Pau to speak....do we really need any more incentive to figure that idiot of a coach. The guy is playing one of the scrawniest SF we've had in a long time as PF, he's started an avg. 2nd rookie, has given more signficant time to a end of the bench big in Sacre over Kaman, list goes on. Alot of these players know season is lost so of COURSE they're gona get theirs 1st since they're all 1 yr contract guys.

Has Pau ever taken any responsibility for the teams struggles?

He seem to always be hurt, complaining about MDA or his teammates while collecting his $19 Mil salary.

You will be far better off when he is gone. This line of rhetoric helps no one.
