The Los Angeles Lakers have assigned Xavier Henry to the NBA D-League.
Henry will play in the Los Angeles D-Fenders' game on Thursday night.
Henry has missed the last 27 games due to a right knee injury.
http://basketball.realgm.com/wiretap/23 ... o-D-LeagueWTF?! I hope its just to get him some game time while the team is on a road trip.

They have Bazemore so they don't really need him.

Lakers are clearly trying to keep his value down so they can resign him (extremely cheaply) in the off-season.
I hope their doing the same with Jordan Hill.
The risk is that these players and their agents get wise to it and leave out of anger ...
... and can you really blame them?
Jordan Hill got 10 minutes last night against arguably the best frontline in basketball.
Jerry Buss is rolling in his grave: "Jimmy, I know I told you to hire this jackass, but understand, I was dying when I told you. Cut the dying man some slack, and now you, my son, grow a sack."

IMO, the cats out of the bag on Jordan Hill's value. It was out of the bag after the playoff series when we first scratched the rotation. Unfortunately we've wasted his time here...if he wasn't injured to start 2012-2013, he would have been huge for Mike Brown.
Slava, it's ben billed as a "rehab assignment" according to twitter. Much like with Rondo.
They're banged up, but what was the highest scoring bench in the league is slowly coming back....

Jordan Hill can only play limited minutes os his value isn't as well as you people are making out to be.

As good. As good.
Almost 7 rebounds in 19+ minutes, plus solid pick and roll defense, a per of 18+, shooting 54%, young, athletic, active...he's the perfect role player. Sure, he won't be an amazing starter, but as a 3rd big he could be very valuable to a contender, IMO.

I hear you, but how come he hasn't been given the opportunity to prove "us people" wrong then?
Bazemore gets 38 minutes a game. Johnson the same. Ryan Kelly has started more games. SHawne Williams gets more minutes fresh off bagging groceries at Pavilions.
Don't be a sheep my man, searching for ways to justify the actions of others in which you place a blind faith.
Everyone else on this team gets major, major burn except ... Jordan Hill (and Kaman).
There is a reason for that.
EIther D'Antoni doesn't like his style (possible), or the Lakers don't want dude to have a twenty rebound game, subsequently sealing his fate as a former member of the Lakers (also possible).

I think there's more too it than that. D'Antoni has said throughout the season that playing Hill huge minutes only burns him out for the next game. That's just how it is for energy guys, I mean isn't that pretty intuitive? Now Kaman on the other hand... well... the ball loses energy with Kaman

Hell no that's not intuitive.
I don't believe that for a second.
And I think you and anyone else would be completely and utterly naive to believe it.
My intuition tells me that's a crock of sh*t.

Well if you have a guy whose main skill is providing quick energy and hustle there's only so much he has. He's not particularly skilled in the post, doesn't have a great jumper, and isn't sized to an advantage so obviously the way he's able to pack the statsheet is through his hustle. But he's still human... he only has so much energy-- to get his he has to push harder than anyone on the court-- wouldn't that naturally mean he expends energy faster than others?
