If Swaggy opts out how much do we offer if anything at all?

Just read the article below about Swaggy' and his thoughts/desires to be a laker in the near future. I have to say even though he makes some ridiculous decisions at times the man loves to be a laker. What should we offer if he opts out? What do you think he will accept?

We offer to sterilize his locker after he's gone... Free of charge.
The best thing about Young was his exuberance about being a Laker... If that's gone, so is he.

Don't most of the Lakers want to be here? from what i here - Meeks, Hill, Kaman, Wes??
Maybe not as much as Young but most of the Laker players on this team want to be here.

Doubt he plays this way with a decent contract.

re-sign all the salvageable parts for 1 year, it's not like we're going after a premier FA.
young, wes, henry, farmar, hill and kaman

My guess is he appears on a riskiest free agent list on ESPN or BR and we offer a low ball 3 year offer and someone with bench scoring woes pays him, then he talks about how he's a little hurt we didn't match.
To me if Steve Blake was worth MLE, so is he for many clubs, but the thing is those guys tend to have a fairly set lineup that needs a spark, and their salary situation is fairly well squared away, where as we are now in a situation where we have to keep a theoretical kill shot worth of cap open to snag a star... which actually will require that this year wasn't a total los and guys like X who are a combination of hurt and promising both take low dough and also develop further. Nick... i don't think we can keep due to ESPN's glomming on to Swaggy branding.

To me, Young, Farmar, and Hill are the core components we need to keep if we were to have a respectable bench when we're a contender again.

A 3 year, $12 mil ($4 mil per year) contract sounds fair to me.

I laughed out loud at this. Well played.

Couldn't agree more on Blake. I do think someone is going to overpay Swaggy. By overpay I mean give him a 4 year 28 million dollar contract. I hope that someone isn't us! I don't care how loyal he has been. I am thankful for him bringing some energy to this season. That being said I am tired of all the jokes and would like to go back to the serious a** whooping mentality that Kobe provides next year instead of post-shot celebrations even if its a miss.
Goodbye Swaggy.

Swaggy P made $8 million the year before he joined us and took $1.2 million to play for his hometown team... Show the dude some respect... Offer Swaggy P $3 million, Farmar $1.5 & Hill $3 million... They are all young, energetic and team players... I would also keep Meeks $1.5 million... Lakeshow...

Hard to say. The front office will go after Melo or Lebron even though they acting like they won't. Plus you add the lottery pick. That doesn't leave much money left. Young would be a good 6th man on a contending team but it depends what he wants contract wise.

He's simply not the type of player to flourish on a team trying to rebuild on winning championships. He's a flashy "me first" player. Its only fun watching him play right now because we know the lakers arent going anywhere, but a lot of his plays and moves would frustrate a fan trying to watch his team win rings.
Great interviews, funny instagram videos, would love to watch him play some pick up ball and kick ass in a pickup game. Dont want him anywhere near a championship contending team.

In the right system, I think Swaggy has the potential to be a solid 6th man on a contending team. But he needs a solid core and coaching staff to keep his head on a swivel and not commit some of the bonehead moves he also has the potential for.

Exactly.
Swaggy is a lot of fun and can score in bunches.
He also does some dumb things. He lacks discipline.
He can bring real value to a contender for sure, but I also think he brought some value to the Lakers and us as fans this year because in one of the most horrible and depressing years in our history, he was one bright spot. He brought a smile to m face and my kids love him because of his theatrics.
He also loves being a Laker which is a wonderful thing.
But on a contender, I can see him as a solid reserve, 1st or second guy off the bench, come in and provide a scoring punch. I can see him developing to a poor mans Jamal Crawford.
Like Kilroy said, he needs solid coaching, and a strong core of teammates around him.

If the Lakers keep Swaggy it won't be for anything over $5M per year. He's a good scorer but a very one dimensional player. If Lakers don't re-sign him they'll just re-sign Bazemore for cheap and put him in Swaggy place. They'll also re-sign Farmar for $2M and Hill for $3.5M.

I'd like to see Swaggy stay, but if it's for anything over $3 mill/yr, I think he'll be getting overpaid. Dude is talented but highly one dimensional. Jodie Meeks can scor as much as Swaggy while also playing relatively good perimeter D. Nick Young can only score. Give him point guard duties or rely on him to rebound and you'll see a lack of effort an a high number of turnovers.
Again, I want to see him a Laker next year, but if he won't accept a contract under $3M/year, let him walk. He'll find his way home.
