Top 6 pick. What would you do?

Post#1 » by pdub15 » Thu Apr 17, 2014 5:23 pm

For me I just haven't been that impressed with Wiggins. I like Embiid but I want to see what is going on with his back. Parker reminds me of a stronger bigger version of Grant Hill before the ankle injuries. Seen a little bit of Exum and would like to see more. Like Randle but want to see him be able to use his right hand. Smart I'm still up & down on him. I think he needs to learn how to play PG in the NBA. Right now I would go with Parker only because I'm still concerned with Embiid's back. What would you do?

What? You do realize we have to advance in the lottery to get most of the players listed in your poll right?

We can't get them just like that....and no,Parker won't even be available at 6 so not even worth mentioning as an option...neither will my choices,Wiggins or Embiid

Shitttt, accidentally misinterpreted the question and voted for "trade pick" so disregard my vote. OP you need to reword your poll, I'm not sure where you're going with this.

Right now % wise we would be the 6th pick but it is the lottery so it all depends when our lottery ball is picked.

Well yeah.....so assuming we do get the 6th pick:

Why are you mentioning players who will go in the top 3 like Wiggins/Embiid/Parker?
Not like we have a choice of selecting them at 6

Because the lottery hasn't happen so and if Lakers lottery ball gets pulled in the top 3 picks than so guys are an option.

It's going to go like this, Aaron Gordon, Marcus Smart, Noah Vonleh, Randle (If he drops), or Exum (If he drops). No way in hell we getting Embiid, Wiggins, or Parker.

if its the 6TH PICK, its tough. but since the top 3 picks are lottery and we do have a lot of balls, we have a good chance at getting one of the top 3.. where if u can get parker, embiid, wiggins.. gonna be exciting and ppl gonna say its a conspiracy if we win a top 3 pick lol

1. Embiid (if back is ok)
2. Wiggins
3. Exum
4. Parker
5. Gordon
6. Vonleh
7. Capella
8. Stauskas
9. Randall

At 9 though I trade it

If we got 3 and utah was at 4/5 I would trade Parker to them for Exum/Gordon and something else.

I agree 100% with your ranking besides your number 1 spot. If I were drafting with the number 1 pick I'd draft Parker over Wiggins in seconds. Parker has the skills and the drive to be the All-Star of this draft. He isn't as sexy of a pick as Wiggins but I really don't see a lot of drive in Wiggins. I think people who don't watch college basketball choose him because he is a popular pick. People forget that before he got hurt in High School Parker was clearly the best high school player for years. Parker is extremely underrated. Their is a reason Coach K praises the kid. If we got in the top 3 somehow and Parker is available you do it. I have been saying it for some time now, Wiggins is a risky pick. I think he has a ceiling of Demar Derozen. If you watched him he is no T-mac as some say and he definitely isn't LeBron. He actually looks like Larry Hughes on the court lol.

Some say Embiid isn't even going to be top 5 due to his back injuries and lack of maturity for the NBA.

He wasn't a beast against decent defenders and anyone that forced him right consistently. He's got a lot of potential but I just don't see him getting past his current play style real quickly. He's a slightly bigger Anthony Bennet without the silky jumper.

I have Wiggins over Parker because of Wiggins' defensive impact on the game as well. I do love Parker's physicality though. Can't go wrong with either, imo.

Agreed that he can have a significant defensive impact. My real issue involves Wiggins desire to play defense and to play hard in the NBA. Their were several games at Kansas including the tournament games that Wiggins took off and seemed disinterested. Wondering how he survives a 82 game season?

I believe he'll be the 6th best player from this draft. He's the best PG in the draft and in the current NBA, that position is extra important. Watch him shoot up from his current 10-13 projections come draft time.

I actually really like Aaron Gordon. He reminds me of how Blake Griffin was as a Freshman at Oklahoma. I just keep wondering if he should have stayed 1 more year like Blake did.

If we drafted Parker I seriously doubt we would trade him unless we getting a already established star. But stranger things have happen on draft day. Example Dirk for Tractor Taylor. LOL
