After Scott's interview he told espn la that he expects the lakers to be in a "bit of a rebuilding year next year" but that they won't stay down long. There's no way scott could have known this unless mitch and buss told him, and theres no way either of them are savvy enough to use scott as a mouthpiece for smoke screens.
This tells me, fairly clearly, that the FO is focused on 2015 ... The rookie, last year of kobe, westbrook and love approach.

Does anyone know why Steve Nash's eyes are so far apart? No troll.

That's the route I would prefer rather than trading our pick

I hate to say it but Melo is growing on me… We could keep our pick and put defensive and unselfish players around him… Our lineup could be as follows:
PG: Vasquez, Nash & Farmar
SG: Kobe & Meeks
SF: Melo & Wesley/Xavier
PF: Randle/Vonleh & Kelly
C: Hill & Sacre
I view Vonleh as a Tyson Chandler type player… Hill plays off the ball as well… That unit could work and would be athletic, play defense and bang…

You could take out Vasquez and replace with Livingston but going with Nash & Farmar alone would be scary given their injuries…

Re: Byron Scott Tipped FOs Plan
I don't think he "tipped' the FO's hand.....it's obvious that's what it is. The only thing we can hope for is that we're halfway competitive next season. Bottom line anyone thinking we're going from the dog house and to the penthouse in just a few seasons are having some serious delusional dreams. We won't be a factor until the summer of 2016.

Re: Byron Scott Tipped FOs Plan
This may the plan for FO right now but that is only because we still aren't close enough to free agency period to know what the main free agents are going to want in regards to coach, superstar teammate, etc. Plus you have to factor in that there is a good chance both Kyrie Irving & Kevin Love force their teams to trade them. If something like that happens the Lakers could end up trading the 7th pick & Nash for either player and still have enough cap space to sign a max player like Melo, Lebron, Wade, or Bosh (99% positive it would be Melo). I know a lot of people are saying it would be dumb to trade for Love since we could sign him out right in 2015 but really if he forces a trade to Lakers by saying he wants to be traded and will only sign a extension with Lakers than the Lakers can get him with 7th pick & Nash and still have the cap space for max player than it isn't that stupid to trade for him. It is still to early to really decided on a full out plan by the FO

^ if that scenario un folds, I would swap Nash and #7 for Love in a heart beat.
