Hey wasup. I hope these kinds of posts are allowed. Else please close.

Long time Lakers fan here. My father and grandfather are huge Celtics fans. But I grew up in LA. So theres that

I started to really become an avid fan when the Shaq era ended/Kobe era began. Seems like we're in a transitional phase... again. Hehe.

Anyhow. Ive been frequenting these forums since around 2004. I used to be quite active in the ESPN Lakers message boards with the same name. I wonder if anyone from there still recognizes me. Hehe.

So yeah. Just saying hi and hoping to participate in the discussions. See yall around!

yeah, just play smart in GB, dont too obvious at trolling, never overly mad + agressive at anything, and you're good to go.

I use to give them softies fits on the GB, that's why I'm off now they couldn't take real Laker fans coming at them.

hi there! it's okay to play around GB, just dont post something mentioning Kobe on your top 10 all-time list.. youll get burned by crazy stats :lol:

I'm new here as well (but have been lurking for a long time...sorry about that)

Living in Ann Arbor, but grew up loving the Lakers (mainly Magic...since...you know...Michigan..although I hate MSU).

My wife hates that I like the Lakers, but since I can watch all the Pistons games I want, I watch them too...I don't think you guys want Monroe...but that's for another thread!

i think it's ok to have kobe in the top 10, it's including kobe in the top 5-6 that's the problem.

it's generally accepted (on realgm's player comparison board) that kobe stats-wise is arguably equal if not better than bird (who most people stick in at #6), with the added advantage of great defense (earlier in his career)

the other players that are in that 6-10 range at the moment (bird, kobe, shaq, duncan, hakeem), all have slight knocks against them (i.e. great but slightly incomplete resumes to get them into the top 5)

but when it's all said and done, lebron will be top 5, maybe even top 3, probably knocking either magic/russell/wilt out depending on which criteria you value most highly (rings/stats/defense)

now isn't that an argument waiting to happen on a lakers board?
