With James failing to win a championship in three of his five appearances, Charles Barkley was on the Dan Patrick Show this morning to discuss where he ranks when compared to Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant:

“I always find it fascinating…‘Did [Kobe] die or something?’ because LeBron has two championships and they just forget that Kobe has five. And they’re like how good is he compared to Michael Jordan, I say Kobe still has more. I think he’s closer to catching Kobe than he is Michael.”

Kobe is greater than magic. Longevity, better winning percentage in the finals, primary facilitator on every team he's been on and as many titles as magic being a floor general, better defender, better scorer, and all. Hell even magic, Kareem, worthy, and west all admit he's the greatest laker

They all seemed to have took back that saying bro. Recently all the old Lakers are saying the Greatest Player and Laker is Kareem. 2nd they say Magic but of course there's a bias there. I try to stay away from the Magic vs Kobe debate because the Magicteers at like its not even worth the argument which I totally disagree with.

You mean on that Showtime panel where they talk themselves up and say stupid **** like they would beat the Kobe and Shaq team, ignoring Kobe and Shaq did stuff they never could? Lol

I thought he was actually paying Kobe a compliment and saying people have forgotten about him. I don't have any problem with what he said. But, that's just the way things go. Whoever is in the Finals and winning is going to get all the glory and the "he's the best ever" quotes. Kobe will be back.

You can argue that Kobe's teams had 5 championships and 7 finals appearances in 10 years (although there were two different cores).

You can argue that Kobe's teams had 5 championships and 7 finals appearances in 10 years (although there were two different cores).

It was 4 and 6 in 10... 2 different cores, and they fell out of the playoffs in the season between cores...

The Lakers were never out of the playoffs with Magic on the team... The lowest they ever fell in the playoffs was the first round, twice... Once when Magic only played 37 games due to injury, and once when he came back for one season after retiring.

Expansion has killed it. The 10th man on teams used to be a complete stud who couldn't crack much floor time and is now a guy who should be playing abroad.

Ugh I have 1 Jordan 2 Kareem 3 Magic. As far as Kobe and Lebron they are borderline top 10 players ever. While Jordan is the GOAT NBA player, I do have Kareem as having a better overall career.

You weren't around long enough to know, but Chick was a very positive guy and said something similar about just about every Lakers Championship team... But the point is debatable...

That said, how frustrating it must be for you that they could only keep it up for one season, because no other Kobe Lakers team was as good.
