No thanks to Kaman at $5M per. It's fair market value for him but I think we can get a more than serviceable big man at a much cheaper rate.

Kama n seemed to be a weird chemistry cancer at times, I wanted him back, but Emeka for cheap sounds brilliant.

We will never forget. Let's see if he can continue his antics during his next two years with the Blazers.

I Liked Kaman. I wish he was still available to us and I don't think he's overpaid, just getting paid more than we would pay him.

Good luck Kaveman!

I do agree with DD about the weird locker room vibe... But I think that was MDA's thing...

Kaman was a boss, and when he got some burn he lit up our opponents. Dealt with Antonis nonsensical rotations professionally, much calmer than I would have. Honestly if I was Gm I would have retained him for 5m. He does work.

Dude got overpayed by Portland, but good for him. He got a raw deal with the Lakers last year. **** D'Antoni man. Wish all the best to the caveman!

We paid more to make the second year mostly unguaranteed. 5 million is definitely an overpay but considering Portland's situation next season where we'll either be rebuilding or having to extend 3 starters it made sense.

Is Kaman's defense at least passable or should we only be expecting to see him produce on the offensive end?

His one on one defense is average at best but he's terrible in pick and roll situations. His size and length can be useful to pack the lane and alter shots. He'll be good enough to roll with the second unit, but otherwise I wouldn't expect a whole lot from him on the defensive end.

Fair enough. It's not like robin Lopez is phenomenal on defense so it may not be a huge drop off going to him necessarily haha.

Atleast RoLo is willing to assert himself on defense....you wont get that kind of effort from Kaman EVER.

I liked what I saw out of Kaman in the rare games D'Antoni actually gave him minutes, but no thanks @ $5m/yr. Good luck to him in Portland.
