Point Guard Mentor - Magic

How about Magic and the Jim bury the Hatchet
and Hire Magic to help with Mentoring the PG.

Laker's have had one of the Greatest Point Guards ever who is not very old
to Coach the Point Guards.

Not that Magic needs the $ but he is one of the greatest ever
has the vision and know how to win.

He doesn't have to be a Head Coach but a Mentor like Kareem was.

Laker's hired Kareem for Bynum.

Houston Hires Hakeem for Dwight.

Point Guard is the most important postion and Magic has the know how
but because of pride and ego's the Lakers do not use him.
Young points now a days do not know how to play the position.
Very few from what I see in youth ball know it is pass first.

Magic is a baller. He has enough success a a business man and it is basketball
not baseball that he was given the talents with.

Silly.

Magic and Nash have alot of knowledge to pass on to the young points
but will they be called upon?

I want to see the Lakers look smart enough if they don't have the most talent on the court
like the Spurs or old Showtime was smart and had talent but made the most of their
role players.

I don't think it's a terrible idea, but we do technically have Nash on the roster still, and magic did play in a completely different era and has been out of the game for like twenty years.

Magic was like a jazz musician. It just flowed from his soul. Can't really teach that.

Talking to Magic for too long might induce an early onset of Alzheimer's.

Magic has an empire to run with his various business ventures. If you can grasp just how big of a job that is, it'll make sense that he won't come back for this role.

When has a mentor ever really helped a player out. It's some obscure myth that mentoring does wonders for a player. Bynum I guess had flashes of it helping? You can't just instill some magical knowledge into how to play the point guard position. You either have it or you don't. You can't teach court vision, and on the fly decision making. Maybe handling one's persona off the court and leading. MAYBE, but still this is all stuff that is usually built into a person.

Nobody passes like Magic did... And I agree that I don't think it can be taught...

When's the last time you saw anyone throw a one handed, no look, half court, bounce pass, through traffic in the Key to a waiting big for an easy dunk? It just doesn't happen anymore...
And he didn't pass... He fired. I think it was Kareem that said, in practice he'd stick his hands out and the ball would be there before he thought about it... But if you didn't have your hands out, you'd learn real quick to always be ready for a pass from Magic, because it was going to hurt if you weren't.

Nash and Kid were great passers... Accurate and creative... But Magic was just on another level, partially because his size and hands let him fire the ball with such authority that it was hard to stop.

Just like with shooting motion and muscle memory etc, I think there's a different physical skill set for passing, and I wish it was emphasized a little more.

Oh really? So you know and state these things as fact?
