Lakers Plan B is 2016

Post#1 » by wfiles » Thu Jul 10, 2014 5:06 am

If they don't get Carmelo then they'll just wait until 2016 when Kobe's contract will be gone. Is there really any reason to watch the Lakers during these next 2 years?

Julius Randle's development and Kobe's final years--if he can stay on the court.

Some fans of this team have always maintained they're about winning titles but now that they finally have to go through the down years like every other fanbase has had to they're realizing the true price is too much for them. They're not willing to stick with the team and remain patient and faithful.

He's talking about plan B after Melo and LeBron sign THIS off season... I don't think Kobe thinks much beyond the current season.

So no... Kobe's plan B has nothing to do with 2016.

Lakers Plan B is 2016

I wonder if Deng would take an inflated 2 year deal at this stage. Then add Pau, bring back hill, Johnson and henry to round out the bench and call it a day.

What are the odds of Julius Randle becoming a franchise player?

What about 2015 and K Love???
Where's the love for K Love?
The younger Gasol will also be available in 2015.

I like the idea of bringing Deng in for a couple of years, but we can't do it in a way as to restrict ourself in 2015 free agency.

I doubt K-Love signs with the Lakers.
I think Marc will likely re-sign with Memphis or maybe he heads to the Knicks if Melo re-signs with them (which is what it's looking like)? They'll have tons of cap space with Bargnani and Stoudemire coming off the books and potentially J.R. Smith if he decides to opt-out of his contract which he could very well do. Might end up being a long shot but anything is possible with Phil in charge.

Not betting on it, but we just have to wait and see how he plays and progresses.

Agree. Plan B is clearly k-love. And minny is hooking us up by refusing to trade him. Even if they do he wont sign an extension because financially it makes sense to wait, ie kobe saying "patience".

The lakers should move into the boston game. Use our cap space to take on last year salaries in exchange for assets. Maybe a guy like jeremy lin.

Although i'd like to see a run at bledsoe. Sarver is a cheap ass and might not match.

Love all go to Cleveland once Lebron signs there, so there goes that plan.

Love, Gasol and Aldridge will all sign extensions in 2015. The only major player is Rondo. I keep telling people we have to land someone in 2014 who at the least has all star potential unless you want to blow our capspace next year on Deandre Jordan(you don't). If we don't go into 2016 coming off a playoff run you can kiss the chance of getting a major free agent good bye.
