Well.. there's not been a new topic for a few days and there's something on the wiretap about a 6'6 PG. We might actually have a spot for a back up point, although I'd prefer someone a bit more relevant, anyways please post how gloriously indifferent you are about this news here.

Sounds like he's a good passer/defender/scorer at the rim. I'm down with him as a 4th string PG (and inevitable 3rd when Nash goes down).

Let's invite a few guys like him and Appling and let them compete at camp, sign whoever wins out to a non-guaranteed contract, and either do the same for SF or leave one roster spot open for trades/the waiver wire.

We don't need a 2nd stringer, we have Nash (but mostly Clarkson) for that. We need someone cheap who will be a live body to practice against and play junktime minutes.

Watching the Raptors quite a bit - he didn't get much burn last year (as expected) but seems like he competes hard in practices and is a worker. There's some talent there.

Definitely wouldn't mind him as a 4th (or 3rd) PG as crazyeights said.

dont we have problems with our starting 3? While I do make fun of our Nash situation I do think he's good for that backup roll along with Clarkson. Being tall as a PG has little meaning if you're not very good, he apparently isn't having been on 3 teams in 3 years now.

I see both Clarkson and Nash as huge gambles going into the season. One due to lack of experience and another due to health. Lin is durable but there shouldn't be a case where we have to play X or Kobe at point for a while.

I'd like a shooter at the backup PG spot.

i'm just stopping by to say that is a crazy way to spell 'julyan' and i'm not entirely comfortable with it

yea lets give this guys shot 6 6 at PG .. If he can learn play defense well . We can do a lot with him defensively

Big PG are overrated. Nobody will ever replicate Magic Johnson. I think we should go for Beasley...

Practice players are actually hugely important to the overall attitude and altitude of a team, IMO. Dissension starts on the bench, if guys don't buy into the program it leads to a group of individuals just playing for themselves.

We have two roster spot open at the moment. So if the Lakers want an extra PG as well as another forward, they can always sign both or invite them to training camp. These are really two separate decisions here.

I know. He's just average at best, imo. Not bad though. It's not like I want to see the spot left open indefinitely.

Well our depth is shallow at two spots, PG and SF. The natural feeling is to fill the spot with a known player, but let's be real most of the known players are retreads and got one foot out the door. If this dude can play and he's young we need to give him a shot.

It's like someone ( might have been milesfides ) posted way back this summer, at this point of where we're at as a franchise we got to turn things into assets. That means getting guys, developing them and see what happens.

That's my mindset these days.

No real need, got Kobe to be on the ball when not in pg hands. Beasley might be a better option to balance out roster.
