Pooh averaged 15 & 5 for Ukrainian as a PG in the worlds... Feisty defender... May have a **** but does have a deal overseas... For the most part, our roster is set...

We have two roster spots open. this is Mitch and Jimmy doing their due diligence and frankly it's good to see them being this thorough.
Jeter looked good from what I saw during FIBA. Could be a solid at the end of the bench.

Jeter is like 30 I don't see how filling the end of a bench on a minimum contract would even be good for him at this stage of his career. He might make more money just being in Europe.

Does anyone else remember that Brandon Jennings tweet last year where it was like Pooh Jeter isn't in the NBA but Chris Smith is?

Yeah they were talking about this during the World Cup. But who knows, maybe the guy wants to take a cheap one-year deal on a team that will get plenty of exposure in the hopes of gaining a long term deal/getting to fulfill a life-long dream.
I will say that with the likelihood of Nash being injured, X maybe not being healthy to start the season, Clarkson being a rookie, and Kobe still being a question mark, there's a great shot that whoever is behind Nash/Lin will see a lot of minutes.
We're a little thin at the guards in general. If I'm Jeter's agent, and he's interested in exploring options at coming home, I see the competition at backup PG/SG and I think my client can come in as a strong veteran counterpoint to what we currently have. If there ever was an opportunity to land a guy like Jeter, I'd think this is the year to do it.
If it doesn't work he can always go back to Europe. Regardless, it's interesting to see that we reached out to him and that he came in, knowing exactly what our cap situation looks like.

Yeah Jeter could get some burn here but if you haven't made it as a PG by 30, it likely won't happen for you in the NBA. I'm surprised no one linked us to Sessions yet.

That's what I found interesting about the WC, Fran was talking about how he's good enough to play in the NBA, but it's just more lucrative for him to play overseas. But who knows, maybe he feels he made some good money, now he'd be willing to play against the best. Maybe the taste of it in the WC wasn't enough? Maybe he's looking to move home.
I guess at the moment he's playing for the Shandong Lions of the CBA (in China).
I mean by 30 people really start asking themselves what their goals in life are. Might not be a coincidence.
As for Sessions, I have a feeling there's some tensions there. Would be interesting to see him come back though.

The Lakers should make a run for Gustavo Ayon or Andre Blatche or both. We need bigs. Our guards and small forwards and power forward seem capable. We have 2 weak spots, Steve Trash and Robert Sacre. Sacre only because I feel he needs more time. We messed up by letting Chris Kaman go. We get a legitimate center and we will be formidable.

That's a possible reason seeing as how he is from LA and we've always liked to keep some local guys in the team. I didn't realize he was playing in China, thought he was at least in the Euroleague.

Gustavo Ayon is an intriguing player but he won't settle for the vets min which is all we have to offer. If we are to make a run at a low risk high reward player, I wouldn't mind taking a chance at Aaron Baynes if he is still available.

i dont like Jeter, he's a chucker, but if we need veteran and experienced guard, there you go.
Tyler pretty intriguing, maybe we can revitalize his career.
