GAME PREVIEW

The Lakers come into preseason game #5 looking to establish some chemistry between what looks like the set starting 5. Lin is hoping to give it a go for Sunday's game against the Utah Jazz. Byron Scott hasn't been able to assess what this Laker team is made of due to injuries to regular rotation players. The good news is that some players may be close to coming back in the coming weeks. The regular season starts in 11 days.

Anyone else disappointed to see that Wes Johnson is still in our starting lineup?

Yeah hoping Scott wakes up soon and starts Clarkson, Lin & Kelly soon as they are healthy.

It just sux because B.Scott doesnt even have our rotational pieces healthy to build some form of chemistry out there. IMO we seriously need to consider starting Ed Davis for his rim protection alone. Boozer tries out there but he's to undersized and slow on rotations to be an NBA starter at this point. I'd consider starting Ed Davis and Hill together and see what kind of pick n roll defense that provides. Maybe a second unit of Randle and Boozer in small spurts together can hold it down. Or maybe consider starting Randle now.

Lin
Kobe
Wes (No matter how you try to spin it until at least Nick Young gets healthy we need his length on defense)
Hill
Davis

I think this maybe the best starting lineup we could put out there whenever we're healthy and in sync. I really though Lin looked good with the 2nd unit that first game but with Nash health and being in and out of the lineup, we're better just starting him... He's gonna get the bulk of the minutes anyway.

I'm okay with a Lin/Clarkson back court just not the biggest fan of smaller lineups. RKellz would ok.

Imo Xavier would be the best alongside Kobe.

+1

xavier would slash the **** out of opponets ass when kobe facilitates and atleast he could spread the floor when he dont slash and cut to the rim plus he occasionally can make shots for himself

That'd be big time responsibilities on Lin and Kobe on O! I think they're up to it if Kobe is fully healthy tho.

In my research it said he was aiming for Sunday, we just gotta wait and see. He was gonna go Thursday, but he re-tweaked it on Wednesday.

It's a bit old but there is this video Lin talks about his injury:

He was aiming for a Sunday return.

I read that he could be out (did not participate in yesterday's scrimmage), however Byron is hoping to give him some minutes if possible.

this team could have been a lot of fun to watch if our SF and C spots were upgraded, and randle started over boozer

The hinge in SF is if Nash is healthy. If he is, Lin could shift to SG, Kobe to SF. C depends on Ed Davis, he seems to be doing well PnRing with Lin and can block shots. If he pans out, the tandem of him and Hill (it remains to be seen if Lin can get him some easy baskets) is pretty adequate since real good centers are kinda rare nowadays.
