Julius is in the perfect situation. Learning from the best in Kobe, Nash, Boozer with the Lakers, it's up to him to not mess it up

Don't bypass the language filter.

I'm gonna agree with that but we're probably the only ones here who see it that way ..

We all agree that randle has to earn his minutes on the floor and not be gifted anything right? I'd be mad at Byron if he gave randle minutes he didn't earn. If he can't beat out boozer for the minutes on the floor then we have a bigger problem.

He's a **** lottery pick, the highest we had in the last 20 years...and he has one competition at PF,washed up Carlos Boozer

He needs to get as many minutes he can handle, and if he plays poorly ,then lose mins
He's got to earn nothing, everybody knows what he can do and that's why he was in the lottery...and we don't have elite options either,to make it understandable if he doesn't get played a lot

Jordan Clarkson needs to EARN minutes and beat other guys ...not Randle

Yeah, I don't really agree with this. He's what, 20? At this stage of his career, with one season of college under his belt, he's going to be F'ing up all the time, but also learning. We have absolutely nothing to play for this season, so why not commit to developing him? If Scott goes hard-line with this I'll be very disappointed.

Boozer for $3.25 mlion is a steal... Gave Kobe a reason to believe... He can score, rebound and is. Decent tem defender... The first 20 games mean everything to this season...

Randle will be fine the speed and the athleticism
Is there just needs to fine tune that jumper and not play in a hurry on every catch.

That's news to me and to Thibs.

Boozer was getting pulled for the majority of fourth quarters by Thibodaeu all last season when it became grossly apparent that even a good defensive team like the Bulls and a defensive instructor in Thibs himself couldn't mask how horrible Boozer was on the defensive end.

Regarding Randle and his minutes, I'm not really worried too much on it. At least in the long run because deep down I know Boozer will play himself out of minutes. He's just not a very good player at this point in his career.

I think Randle deserves minutes and if he **** up, he is young so it will take time for him to learn. I hope they don't end up giving boozer all the minutes.

Maybe if we were playing for anything important but its clear this team is at its very best fringe close to the 8th seed, at its worst, the worst team in the league.

While normally i would agree with this assessment, i can't in this case. You're talking about the highest pick the lakers have had in over 30 years. You don't sit that player on his ass to watch others play. You put him in the game, get him the game play he desperately needs so he can learn from his mistakes and the Lakers can maximize on his development. We're not making the playoffs with or without Boozer so there was really no point in picking him up unless it was simply a means to get a cheap Pau Gasol replacement and make it look like we were trying to compete to fans. Then again this idea of putting an image of trying to compete has been the wrong way of going about it. We should have started our rebuild already so we wouldn't be stuck in this mediocrity for a couple more years. We're putting too much faith in getting lucky in FA.

1 No because there are two other players besides Randle that can play that position on the team.
2 Even if there weren't we could have just picked someone that was unsigned yet to play the back up 4.

Jeez so much negativity around these days. Pretty much if Booz does get a lot of time he'll get hurt...(just assuming because damn near everyone is going down these days) so Randal will get more playing time. But I know that won't happen so, Randal will keep showing flashes of all star play and eventually split time/ maybe even see some time at the 3 if he plays like I think he will. I've been saying it since summer league dude has the "skill set" of a poor mans lebron. He will get his chances we just have to remember dudes only 19 years old. "Can't choke the process"

like ed davis?

davis/hill/sacre are all in the same category of garbage cleanup hustle guys as and serve as complimentary big men opposed to the make plays/shoot a FT jumper sort that the randle/boozer/kelly types we have

unless you were also lumping in jeremy tyler

It doesn't matter what kinds of players they are, we aren't making the playoffs regardless.

Proper mentality is perhaps the most important thing when you've got a young talent, and Julius has it. Loving this kid more with each passing day.

If only we could freeze Kobe in a cryostasis ala Captain America and pair him up with Julius in his prime. The league couldn't handle it.
