Kobe right now is sad to watch
I tried keeping it positive before the season hoping we would get the Kobe of 2 yrs ago. Last night i felt like i was watching Muhammad Ali vs Larry Holmes, Terry Norris vs Sugar Ray Leonard. I was at a bar on pine street in Long Beach in shock. Is this really Kobe? Achilles injuries are no joke.

He looks better than what I expected him to be but this level of usage and minutes is just not sustainable for a player in his early 30s, let alone someone who's 36 coming off a career threatening injury.

Re: Kobe right now is sad to watch
Practice reports say he was sick yesterday and missed practice today, he's day to day for tomorrow's game. It's a long long season, he's certainly not going to look like he did a couple years ago but he will get better.
And also swaggy is set for his debut Tuesday. Clarkson and Xavier got sent to the dleague. The sky isn't falling people, our strength of schedule thus far is off the charts. Not saying we're definitely gonna make playoffs but it is what it is we're rebuilding. What the hell is the difference between not making playoffs and losing in the 1st round. Look at our roster right now. Some teams miss playoffs for a decade. Just be grateful our rebuild will probably be much quicker than most teams. Reggie Jackson is balling dropping that 23 and 8 right now.

Yeah there were reports that he was sick yesterday, and plus he did look pretty fatigued.

Kobe physically is fine. He's just trying to carry too much load. Physically he looks the same as he did the year we had Dwight.

Re: Kobe right now is sad to watch
Kobe took a step back from 2 years ago, but that's not that bad considering some people were questioning whether he'd ever play again. He's still playing at a pretty high level, he's just surrounded by trash.
We're and interior presence and a perimeter defender away from being a +500 team no matter what Kobe does.

Gotta love the over dramatics when it comes to kobe. He's looked no where near as bad as some people have suggested. He's the only respected score threat we really have.

Good game = He's back!
Bad game = Achillies injuries are no joke!
Uhm, it's called being a 36 year old great basketball player. Good nights, great nights, and an occasional absolutely dreadful game.
Even his last full season played he had worse games. 4 points, 8 turnovers vs Phoenix comes to mind. There's been many other tough shooting nights. Comes with the territory.
The overreaction to every single game is just hilarious.

Agreed. I'm not a Lakers fan by any stretch but I have been following Kobe's return because I'm a fan of the game. To be honest I think that he has played better than my expectations coming into the season. I didn't see him averaging 25ppg and 5rpg - I didn't think he had that in him. Mind you it has only been 9 games...
The thing that sticks out to me is that fact that they have him playing 35+ minutes a game and yet the team is still losing. Kobe's shooting percentages are are down across the boards from 2 years ago and maybe if those minutes came down a bit he'd be able to get that efficiency up.
At the end of the day Kobe still has the ability to put up big numbers. When he is on hes still one of the best to ever lace up the sneakers.

They might have to sit him some games. Reality is here and age is caught up to the mamba.

What im noticing is every shot is tough and lack of separation. I can understand if it's 1 game, but it seems like every game is a struggle for Kobe.

What you notice is no secondary ball handler who is good ... The first 3 peat teams have Fisher, Harper ... The other b2b team had Lamar, Luke, Fish, Farmar, Sasha. Lin can't handle in traffic, wes can't handle at all, and we lack spacing so he can't post. There's no one on the team but him and price who can make a post entry pass. There's no one who spaces it besides Ellington. It's a flawed perimeter. Young is by in large the second best perimeter guy on this team in terms of tangible guard skills

On 45% that's not bad.
