Lakers (3-13) vs Raptors (13-3). Sunday, at Staples

Your 3-13 Los Angeles Lakers
Image
(just pretend that's ED)

vs.

Their 13-3 Toronto Raptors
Image
(and pretend that's Amir on the right I guess)

Always a fun game, these two teams have never even been roughly equal in the standings. After years of calling for the tank to roll in, the Raptors have passed that on to the proud Lakers who have never intentionally tanked until last year where they clearly intentionally tanked towards the end.

Key players:
Julius Randle, Demar Derozan, Bruno Caboclo, Steve Nash

Look for some quality towel waving. Who will cheer on their own squad to victory? Who has the will power and sheer charisma to will their team to a win without having any sort of contribution to speak of? Who will even be sitting on the sidelines for this epic battle that's sure to go down to the wire for absolutely no conceivable reason!?

Watch as Kobe becomes the first player ever to reach the vaunted 32124 point, 6683 rebounds, and 5992 assist career mark. Each team stands to mirror each other as they will inevitably have mirrored records before and after the game! Oh the duality of nature!

And now for some eye candy!

Spoiler:

The 'M' stands for "mature"!

Which I am clearly not!

Raptors lead the east but they're fools gold. I'm laughing at all these teams and their fans who think they're winning a title. Toronto is a 3rd round out if the standings hold the way they are, but I doubt it. Eventually the Bulls will hit stride and so will the Cavs and the Raps will fall back in the east.

But you can bet big money they ain't winning an NBA title.......yeah I said it.

Well with DeRozan out the Raptors about to descend back to reality, their record is fools gold.

The Raps have played some great basketball man. Nothing fools gold about it. Will they win a Championship this year? No. But don't discredit the work this team has done so far this season.

Tomorrow night should be interesting.

Stupid Chrome just erased like twenty minutes of pictures because it's an ass. FU CHROME.

Why Fields? Because Casey is like that. He'll just pop in someone so he can keep the rest of his rotation as is. what a weird season. Normally I'm pulling for the underdog, and normally that's the Raps, but today it's the Lakers, because lord they need it, and I hate the tank. Good time to capatilize too. If Derozan is out, which it looks like he will be, Lakers can jump on this opportunity. Raps are good, and deserve some legit respect, but aren't world beaters just yet. The key to this is the Laker's bench, because if Toronto can do anything, it's pour it on with the second unit.

FORGET EYE CANDY, FORGET PICTURES, FORGET CHROME

Maybe tomorrow, when I'm less irritated with this.

Don't sweat it.... some Laker fans can't accept reality that a lot of teams right now have a brighter future ahead and are taking there frustration on other NBA teams... you guys should have your tomorrow night with the Lakers... I expect huge games from Amir and Lowry.

Interesting numbers:

13-3 vs 3-13
Top of the L'eastern Conference vs bottom of the brutal Wild Western Conference

Lets negotiate, guys.

The Lakers aren't really going anywhere this season and losing to the Raptors isn't as bad as losing to the Rockers, Mavs, Spurs or the Suns.

In addition another loss means the Suns can suck it.

Raptors meanwhile need another win to help ward off the inevitable run the Cav's will make.

Win win deal.

Lets do it to it.

If the Raptors want to win a title then Valanciunas has to step it up.

Yeah man, I realize. It's -9C here though, which is like... really cold in F (and I live on an island on the coast for crying out loud), and this game is sandwiched between two long shifts of mine. Hence why I was a bit reticent to take this game in the first place.

It was 16 C two days ago, and yet last night I drove home in four inches of snow. Crazy weather is crazy.

I won't even get to watch this game regardless.

Ross is gonna go off. He should show the rest of the NBA what he's capable of now that DeRozan is hurt.
