This is interesting considering Baxter Holmes just changed beats from covering the Celtics to the Lakers....

Would you do Nash + 2 draft picks for Rondo? Would Boston?

I'd start to consider it for a few reasons:

1. We're getting demolished on defense. One of the most important areas is PG...we need help there.
2. It would utilize Lin's strengths as backup combo-guard. He could play with Davis and get that bench chemistry goin.
3. It's trading Nash.

My holdup is do we want two more picks to go by the wayside?

Rondo/Lin/Price
Ellington/Clarkson
Kobe/Swaggy/Wes
Boozer/Kelly/[Randle]
Hill/Davis/Sacre

Cut X. Sign another PF or C to pair with Hill/Davis with Randle's injury exception.

We also have Nash's injury exception to play with.

Certainly not 2015 Laker firsts... Maybe 2001 Laker firsts, but we suck too good to be giving it away... I mean we suck so bad we shouldn't trade our draft picks... Sorry about that... I always think like a pimp.

Please no, nothing to be accomplished this season even with Rondo. Grab our firsts, draft well and get Rondo in fold next season if he wants to come. If we keep our pick and sign Rondo/Marc next season I'd likely burst in rapture.

I feel that, but we've been saying that about every free agent the last 3 years. At some point we have to make a choice. Not sure if this is the one we wanna make, but still. Takes something to make something.

Also, the reason I'd be tempted is if we can secure a defensive ball-handling distributor then that would shore up our bench rotation making it a weapon again. Lin/Swaggy/Davis is a good unit. Whereas in the summer if we signed Rondo, I'm sure we'd lose out on Lin and then we're searching for another backup combo guard.

Though that's not factoring in the future 5 years from now....

I've been to mucho iHops in my drunk late night life and I've never seen one with a self order system. You almost always have a waitress with missing tooth and a crack addiction to serve you very suspicious food.

It's the metal chairs. Horrible atmosphere. Guessing Rondo picked.

We don't even have 2 1st round picks to trade. It would have to be Houston's + our 2019 pick or something ridiculous like that.

If we trade two firsts for Rondo, god bless this front office.

Kobe wouldn't become an off-ball player for Steve Nash, why would he do it for Rondo? Because he's older?

Not buying the fit.

Why would we trade for him for two first rounders if we can get him in the offseason.

Yeah because we weren't 5-13 with nash running the O, and kobe wasn't playing off be ball and shooting 48%

It was the none kobe guys that couldn't play off nash and his inability to create without a pick. The memphis game was the breaking point as he crossed half court 16x vs Conley right at the 16-17 sec mark. And there was the Miami game where we lost late because cole made nash his bitch and kobe frustratedly said its got to be something easier then me coming 30 feet out vs the clock to make something happen

Kobe wasn't even the guy who complained about sessions, Bynum demanded he stopped running

Well fwiw Rondo loves the city of Los Angeles. He here's quite a bit during the offseason.

Not a fan of giving up our two first rounders for him when he's going to be a free agent after this season.

Rondo could very much struggle with Kobe at times as the ball will be out of his hands a lot more than in Boston but it's his defense that would really be appreciated.

Kobe has been admiring Raj forever.
Rondo is a triple machine and a big threat on the defensive end.

If Rondo is leaving as a free agent (looks more plausible with each loss), he's going to the Lakers or Knicks. Both teams could take their chances and turn down any offers from Ainge and wait for him to become a free agent............or, it could turn out to be a bidding war between Kupchak and Phil Jackson, because whoever can nab him first can offer him the extra year and more money.

Knicks are in Beantown next Friday, so it'll be interesting to see if we see pictures of Rondo having breakfast with Carmelo next week.

Maybe if this deal was to go down Mitch and Co. doesn't want to build through the draft anymore.
Julius Randle being our last draftee.

Pick up Rondo now with promises hell lock up with the Lakers permanently and go all out Guns Blazing for Marc or Lamarcus this summer?

I can't see us trading picks for Rondo... I think if it happens, it'd be for cap relief and maybe Hill. Otherwise, it'll be about where Rondo wants to go to as a free agent.

Not 2 first. But we should explore nabbing him with a trade. Would also entice another possible free agent to sign here this offseason if they know we have a core of Kobe, Rondo, Nick, Randle and possibly our 2015 pick (we're not trading that for an expiring player)
