My thought on this is that Ed Davis will be in foul trouble instantly as we have seen in the previous games, so Boozer might be back in again after 4-5 minutes? What I expected Byron Scott to do was, whether Lin starts or not, at least let Lin and Davis have some playing time together, but I guess that's not gonna happen. So still no pick n roll offense for Lin cus he will have to play with Boozer, who does not go to the basket.

With Price in the starting line-up, we'll most likely see more of Kobe facilitating, while Price only job is to get the ball to Kobe and defend. I have some serious doubt if Price can do a good job on defense but we'll see.

I guess the defensive liability will be the bench now, cus the defensive liability follows Boozer everywhere.

We need a point guard like Fisher. Just a spot a shooter will do. Price is nothing like that.

They should bench Wesley. The hell they didnt bring in Earl Clark either.

Sort of agree, and sort of don't. Ed needed to be in the starting lineup. The help defense is abysmal and he is the only rim protector on the team. I like Price more than most because I'm always partial to defense. His aggressive perimeter D stands out where every other guard is inconsistent.

The issue I have is that Price is replacing Lin. He should be replacing Wes with Kobe moving to the 3.

I hope price can make his shots. Lin could atleast knock down open shots alongside kobe. Must be fun watching Sacre running pick and roll with Lin.

I really a. Not against the move, but I thought it would be Lin gets benched and boozer stays starting or boozer gets benched and Lin stays starting. Oh well we needed a shake up and pg play has been ass, while Booz has gotten lazy

Price is a worse defender than Lin.

Oh well, need to balance the tank because starting Davis can help us win.

Lin has the best chemistry with Davis running PnR so they must not be allowed to play at the same time

Is this move meant to have Kobe jack even more shots? lol Price and Davis are both limited offensively, Wesley is a terrible offensive player. It's just going to be Kobe jack in up shots and Hill getting the offensive rebounds.

Actually going off drtg this year, no one in the top of the rotation was worse than Lin. Going over opposing per no position is worse than what our pg spot allows. Is what it is

Davis, Johsnon, and Price should never be in a starting lineup together.

That starting lineup is so easy to defend. Double Kobe and we'll never score.....

I'm not sure what that rating measures seriously, but you're telling me that lin has the same defense rating as our goat elite defensive long wing monster Wes Johnson? Wow. I didn't know that lin is any where the defender as Wes. And Wes is still starting. Thanks for the link though.

I also want to see ratings that is more tie to individual rather than team. You see, our best defender is Ed Davis, the team defense always improve when he's on the floor. How many minutes Lin played with Davis vs price?

Man we need Ryan Kelly to be back....

Price might fit okay with Kobe if he hits his shots...if he doesn't then we're in for trouble. Hilarious that Davis is starting but not playing with Jeremy (since we saw how quickly they developed chemistry in the preseason).

Will be interesting to see how Scott staggers and pairs Kobe, Lin, and Swaggy...

It measures points the opponent would score in 100 possessions. Essentially points per possession if you divide by 100, so 1.17 for Lin, 1.11 for Davis...whereas a more robust defense in Memphis has Marc Gasol with a 98drtg (0.98ppp) and Mike Conley is 104 drtg (1.04ppp).

Price and Davis will start for sure ... But Lin and Boozer will still get their starting minutes you can bank on that.

I'm just glad they are coming off the bench as they'll thrive off the bench with young :)

Edit; I'm curious to see how Davis and Hill go playing alongside each other :)

not sure about Boozer, but Lin will get only around 20 minutes. It doesn't matter really, whoever plays with Davis will get their defense rating boosted. Davis is the only plus defender we have.

Yeah, this is something I just don't get at all. Everyone was raving about the Lin-Davis connection during pre-season and the start of the season, then Byron Scott make sure it never happens. If he's trying to win, why not go with one of the most effective plays for the team? Unless he's tanking for that top 5 pick....
