Melo?

Five months after swearing his allegiance to New York and signing a five-year, $124 million contract, sources told The Post the All-Star forward would be open to dropping his no-trade clause if team president Phil Jackson strikes a deal with a team Anthony would like to play for.

Part of Anthony’s deal included the rarely used no-trade provision.

For now, Anthony has no desire to be traded, but his willingness to consider giving up the no-trade clause shows how frustrated he has become with the Knicks’ historically bad start to the season.

Melo + Dalembert + filler

For

Nash + Davis + Lin + Kelly + picks?

?

I would only do Nash,Lin and Kelly to get him the books next year. I would sell the fact that we are taking on his enormous contract and the Knicks will have a ton of $$$ to play this off season so take it or leave it. Why would the Lakers do it? Simply put to give Kobe a fighting chance at a sixth ring. I would not give up any assets or anyone who can help me win this year(Davis).
Why would any other team give assets and take on that contract?
Can they turn the ship around this year? If Kobe or Melo go down then we are right back to chasing a top 5 so I would not trade that position. I hope the Lakers front office stands their ground and not give up so much if they start talks.

Obviously something was behind Kobe's tantrum at practice !

I would so easily do Lin, Kelly, Rockets pick, and Nash for Melo. Hell yeah I would do it without a second thought especially since unlike this past summer we would have Hill, Swaggy, Boozer, Ed, Randle, Price, Sacre, Wayne, and Wes locked in alongside a kobe we see has gas (not any nos yet).

I am not a Melo fan but to say that trade doesn't start with Randle & out 2015 pick is ridiculous... NY will ask for both as well as Lin (expiring & fan favorite) & possible Swaggy P & TPE... We have to be realistic... Does Price, Kobe, Melo, Hill & Davis make the playoffs... I think that ship has sailed...

If we trade for Melo at this point, then I retire as a fan.

100% do it, and I hate melo - especially if lin/nash's expirings are able to form the bulk of the trade.

I would give up Randle maybe and easily Clarkson too. Fact is tho that la wouldn't cave totally.

Price, Kobe, Melo, Swaggy, Wes, Wayne ,Hill, Boozer, Sacre, and Davis could easily make the playoffs this year as an eight seed. They could get there and as an 8 or 7 considering the ground they would've had to make up they would be red hot

Me-NO!
Unless we suddenly get better. Then yes. If we won't be keeping our pick, Melo okies.

Nash, Lin, Randel and a pick for Melo would probably be the Knicks asking price.

I don't think the Knicks would have interest in anyone like Nick Young since we're trying to tank and he could accidentally win us some games.

I don't know if the Lakers would be interested in anyone else on the Knicks roster that could help you become a solid playoff team. Maybe Calderon who's a serviceable PG and would fit nicely next to Kobe/Melo.

Why would we trade for a Melo who has a bum knee that might surgery?

Why all this just to make the playoffs? Then you're strapped to Melo for the rest of that even more bloated contract that we could have offered last summer? Face it, we lost out on this half-generation.

We dodged a bullet missing Melo, and as much as I'd love to get Kobe another shot at the playoffs, I:

DO NOT want another hero-baller on our team as next the torch-bearer.

It's time to evolve.

Next person to include Randle in a Melo trade gets a ban.

Melo likely only wants to go to the Bulls.

I'd do it for two GOATS and a sheep, though.
