I'm looking forward to seeing what happens at the Trade D

It's obvious this team isn't gonna win constantly..... and they have a huge problem playing lackluster basketball most of the time.... if this season is gonna head south.. then the team should collect as much draft picks as possible...... let's remember around this team last year the season went towards the toilet... I hope the same trend does not continue.

If you'll also recall, we couldn't even get a 1st for Pau Gasol...who was expiring for $19M! In markets before the new CBA that would have for sure netted something valuable.

I think the problem was that Pau's expiring was too big to absorb with the new CBA.

Smaller expirings will be more desirable... But the only teams looking for expirings are teams over the cap that suck... There may be a team or 2 out there that are good but have a bad contract they want to unload, but those are rare...

So don't hold you're breath... I think the only way we'll do anything major would be if we can hit a home run. So we'll either go big or go away. Major assets or picks, no long term financial implications, etc...

So we're looking for a good team with a bad contract that would be willing to unload some picks they don't need, or a bad team that is over the cap that desperately wants to get below the cap and has an asset we desire...

I think it's a real long shot. I expect us to stand pat, actually. I think the magic happens around the draft.

If the warriors try to unload Lee how Lin was unloaded, I see us taking that deal and happily eating his contract for a Pick and sending out the abysmal pg tandem of disappointment

I would be ecstatic if they could nab a mid first. I doubt they make any trades though, because there just aren't enough liquid assets on this roster.

I think the best bet would be Wesley J + Salary Filler for pick. Charlotte, Chicago, New Orleans, Cleveland and maybe even Houston should all come knocking, though apparently it is incomprehensible that Houston surrenders the pellies pick for the uber-athletic 3 point sniper who strikes terror in the hearts of our enemies on defense other wise known as Wesley Johnson.

Best you can hope for is if Detroit cannot find anyone to take on Josh Smith, you might get him + a pick for expirings of Hill & Lin or Nash (if they don't want someone who can play). Too bad Dumars isn't the GM, he'd have been on that trade like white on rice. Stan might be too smart to trade away a lottery pick.

Jeremy Lin would be a good contract for someone like the Bulls. They always want to save money.

Also, how about the Knicks? I would think New York would love to have Linsanity back. We can trade Lin for whoever pissed Melo off.

I get a feeling we might go after Brandon Jennings

I really hate Josh Smith. i don't think I can handle watching games with him on our team.

Please God no! The team will do nothing at the front office had a lack of testicular fortitude. Greg Monroe for the Rockets pick would be a good pickup but the front office has eye in the sky delusions of picking up Kevin Love or Marc Gasol

Trade players for future #1 picks. Only way to rebuild the team.

Don't sleep on Rondo or Lance... Boston will lose Rondo for nothing & Lance might be had for salary relief... We need TALENT, period... Need to get pieces & build... Not a big fan if Jennings...

I'd take Brandon over Lance Stephenson. Brandon is a Compton guy, big fan of Kobe too. We need people that can mesh with Kobe not go against him. I think Stephenson would rebel at everything that he's told.

Rondo is going to be a pipe dream with the assets we have, plus it's Boston.

If we can get Monroe for a 2nd rounder that would be great, we can't give up our only 1st rounder (HOU) for a guy like Monroe when he could be had in the offseason.

why not try to get both these guys? They would mesh well because Jennings is a spot of shooter type.

http://sports.yahoo.com/news/sources--celtics-rajon-rondo-212808679.html

As much as ever in his nine seasons in Boston, the Celtics have left strong impressions with rival organizations that they’re prepared to make a deal that includes Rondo, sources said. Boston has been engaged in discussions described as “serious” in recent days, but no trade agreement is imminent.

Boston's asking price for Rondo remains "pretty high, probably higher than most want to pay," one league official told Yahoo.

Trade talks with Rondo have been focused more in the Western Conference than Eastern, sources said.

If Detroit's pick wasn't going to be a top pick, maybe they'd do it. But at the moment those are the most valuable assets in the league outside of the 5 or 10 elite players.

Doubt we have anything it would take to nab a sure-fire lottery pick.

I think Monroe would be a good fit as well. Plays the 5 and 4 and in a league lacking dominant big men, his D is sufficient. Hill, Monroe, Randle, and Davis would be a solid front court for next season and well beyond. If Kelly develops into the outside shooter we all think he can be, we'll be golden.
