How would this team fare

Post#1 » by Penberthy » Fri Jan 9, 2015 5:02 am

Playing Detroit's offense with SVG as coach?
http://basketball.realgm.com/analysis/2 ... Basketball

I imagine the rotation would look something like

Price/Lin
Kobe/Ellington
Nick/Wes
Kelly/Booz/Wes
Hill/Ed/Sacre

This is actually very very interesting. I think I like Ellington or maybe Wes at 3 and Swaggy at 2 in the 4 out format more then Kobe, and you'd need to do something about Hill, because that starting lineup is just all jump shots with Hill in there. Though they probably wouldn't win that many games because of the lack of defense at several positions.

I'm sorry but i can't imagine that roster being good in any system with any coach.

We have no one who can replicate what Drummond does for that team. Also we don't have anyone who shoots as well as Meeks.

Outside Kobe that's the same team last season with D'Antoni as coach minus Meeks & Pau who were the best couple players.

So which team you guys think is better, not judging coach/system, just players.

Last year's team with pau no Kobe or this current team with kobe?

You can shuffle these players till you're dizzy... And put them in any system... They'd still be winning roughly the same amount of games.

The talent just isn't there.

Last year's team. Besides Pau was a better player last year than Kobe is this year.

Individually, not much difference. Pau was a 19 PER/1.1 VORP player last season, Kobe is a 18 PER/1.2 VORP player this year. Both are terrible defensively but sub standard defense at Pau's position is more detrimental than at Kobe's.

This is like comparing horse crap to bull crap, its all manure at the end of the day.

This /end thread. We'd probably have the exact same record. A system only works when you have players that fit into that system.

uh...what angle might that be?

so we should judge the poster instead of the post from now on? sounds like you know my angle better than me.

edit: so tell us what you think my angle is?

I'm more curious how this team would fair in Radandive's 4 on 5 system.

Lakers D-league team has been scoring like 98 points in a half recently, not sure what kind of gimmick they are upto. Grantland won't tell that because we don't have an MIT GM or owner.
