This has been a really depressing season so I have not watched every game. But in the games I have watched, I have not seen a player who is worse than Ronnie Price. I literally have not seen this guy make a basket all year. I am not trying to be funny...

Has anyone else seen him score? Was it a jumper, or layup? I need to know because I have this guy profiled as the guard version of Kwame Brown.

My goodness...

Actual stats for Ronnie Price in the past week.

1.7 points per game

3.0 assist per game

Shooting 6% from the field. I **** you not, he is shooting 6%.

0% from beyond the arc.

Scott's obsession with Price is confusing. Dude really can't do anything other than bring tons of energy. He is, without a doubt, the worst Lakers PG I've ever seen, and that's including Smush Parker and Sun Yue.

Fellas we're losing games on purpose. We really may lose every single game the rest of the season lol

Lakers need to be full sellers at the trade deadline. Hill for a first. Lin for a second. Nash contract for something. Lakers just need to stockpile draft picks to either use for themselves or to use to move up in the draft or in trades.

Not sure Young will be traded.

Come next summers free agency, do what the heat did a few years ago. Dump all player contracts and use as much cap money to rebuild this team.

He didn't look good at all last game when he was asked to really handle the ball for the 2nd unit. He can't finish at all, and opponents know that, so when he drives, they just guard the passing lanes.

Weird thread with suspect motive.

Ronnie Price has been playing awful so really there's no point in questioning the motive of this thread, his playing time is worth discussing.

Instead of jumping on Scott's coaching, it's more productive to try to analyze his motives in a more meaningful way than scott just not liking Lin.

In the absence of talent and any real possibility to do much winning this season, IMO Scott is going to try to at least develop a culture of hard working hard nosed players. Probably sounds cliche but Scott probably sees those qualities in Price. It's not really about Price stinking it up stats wise, just about the effort.

Thing is this is bull shot because Price got hurt, played hurt, and its his shooting arm. Ireland even said he was asked to play D and shoot when necessary heading into the Nola game, meaning he just suited up and Played like a warrior which again makes Byron hard lol

But seriously lets look at January

namely assists, turnovers and assist/turnover ratio

in 23.4 mins, Lin is averaging 3.8 assists and 2.4 turnovers / Price is averaging 4.3 assists and 1.3 turnovers in 26.2 mins
Price was getting just 2.8 more mins than Lin a game this month.

Price is being a better PG than Lin

Hurt or not...doesn't justify him playing more minutes. All that matters is production. I think we can agree on that.

And you're just looking at assists/TOs, which Price is better...but not much when you're talking about numbers that are +/- 1 apart.

Lin averaged 11ppg in January on roughly 45% shooting. Price was below 5ppg at not even 30% shooting. That's a major difference between the two.

Defense is negligible between them. Price might be a "tough kid" but he's hardly a better defender. Price avg 1.6 spg, Lin at 1.7 for January.

There's really no reason why Price starts over Lin other than Scott just likes Price more personally or they are trying to lose games. Stats and game impact both go to Lin, imo.

Lins impact is negligible ... when he was starting he had the biggest - and worst defensive rating of all 4 guys. He was a guy who literally saw his shooting percentages change drastically by 10% road to home. He didn't play well on back to backs.

Lins impact only came after he was reduced to out 8th man ... He had a negligible assist to turnover ratio among the original starters too

It wasn't liked Scott made Lin choke ... Lin hung himself with a starters role early when he had Scott and Kobe backing. Scott called him tough and everything to he watched him personally for 20 games as a starter .... Kobe got to the point Kobe said and I quote "I'm tired of talking about it" when it came to talking Lin thru his problems and trying to get him to be assertive /// HEll even Nick said well he'll get it eventually; and that was the guy who Lin said he wouldn't call saggy because he didn't earn a nickname
